Your Thoughts on a couple of layouts?
« on: September 12, 2012, 10:07:50 AM »
I was reading an article in Pro Shop Operator about some funky layouts.  In the article they pointed out that a lower tracker using a full roller layout to tame ball movement.  So here's my question:

Which would be better let's say on the burn 1) pin axis drilling or 2) a full roller layout?

Opinions?

On the burn, you want to think about surface. But all surface things being correct, *I* would go with a pin axis drilling. As long as your angles don't open up much, you should be good.

I would be worried about a full roller drilling pulling the track up over the thumb. Throwing a full roller layout might really change the bowtie location.

And by full roller, I assume you mean cg near grip center, and the pin at 7:30.

Pin-Axis for sure. Much smoother backend reaction.
