Hey guys about 2 months ago I got my first ever Morich Ball. I got a seek in destroy because i wanted something for heavy tournament conditions.  Well I got it layed out for max. hook and this thing just skids skids skids...and when it does hit it hits like a wet rag.  Ive always been a storm guy and this ball is a big dissapointment.  I am wondering if anyone has had this problem.  ALl the proshops around here cant figure it out and one gentleman suggested it might be a defect in the ball or its core.  I am wondering what you all think or you have any suggestions of what i should do.  I have adjusted speed, cover finish etc etc and it just squirts on oil...sure it moves on a THS but i did not get it for that.  Anything is greatly appreciated.
THanks,
AdamBomb

who drilled it?

do they know how to drill strong asymmetrical stuff? are they familiar with Morich equipment?

There is no such drill as "max hook" for MoRich

I've learned through trial and error, that everybody can't drill asymmetrical balls with a strong mass bias. I have WMB (morich), which works well for me, but is not what I expected. Maybe the guys on here can suggest something for you if you give them your mesurements. Its worth seeking out somebody who can.

Adambomb,

Morich had a specific part of their website relating to their equipment. Like the guys say here... Get someone who knows Morich stuff, if not drilling is a CRAP shoot. And usually you get just that occasionally... CRAP. Seen it too many times, all who complain about buying one... Didn't do as recommended. Research your driller and the website. If the guy who drilled yours told you he'd drill it for max hook obviously didn't know MO!

Sorry but I think you got hosed. Go check with the website with your information like PAP, rev rate, axis info and check what they recommend and re-drill it. A properly drill piece can make you a happy guy... Trust me!

Give us details of your specs (PAP, tilt, speed, revs) and if possible a pic of the ball how it is drilled. This would give people on the site more info to work with on how it should be drilled. Also as stated, go to morichbowling.com and check out the specs on the S&D and it will show the best ways to layout a ball depending on those specs. More than likely your driller either:
1)Is not familiar with Mo products
2)Did not get your specs correct
3)Drilled a ball how he thought it should work for you but was wrong.

Add details and a pic and one of the drillers/Morich experts will better help getting the ball reaction you are desiring.

Hey adam did u throw the ball on a heavier patter or lighter house shot. Im wondering if the ball is burning up or something. For instance I have two particle balls and the house that I bowl at is not synthetic, its wood with a synthetic overlaying. Alot of my equipment works funny there. My particle equipment gives me over under and my other two balls roll out up there. When I go to other houses they work great but at that one i need not bring them. Have u tried throwing it at other houses to see how it works there. I had a wmb similar to what u have now. And for me it hit like a truck but when I ran into a heavier shot SKIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. It could be the layout because mine had the pin above the fingers almost to the right with the cg kicked and the mb in a weak position. I killed house shots with it. But in oil it didnt work.

You can't reference the fingers or the thumb when talking about layouts, especially on strong asymetric stuff.  If "max hook" means leverage pin, cg/mb stacked then you probably drilled it wrong, judging by the fact that it references the grip.  If max hook meand pin to pap of 4" pap to mb of 6" or whatever strong drilling you used than more likely its the lanes/surface/or line played that is in error.  (Note: I'm not saying that pin next to fingers, mb stacked is necessarily a bad drilling, for me having a pap of 5 1/2 over 1/2 up its a great drilling, but referencing the grip is something that cannot be done when drilling.  Get a good ball driller/some knowledge and you'll have better results.)
