I've been in the market for a "lighter oil" resin ball for a while. I've tried the Roto-Grip Neptune with various surfaces and even two different layouts, and the ball was over/under like nobody's business.

I then tried a Storm Jolt pearl, with two different layouts and various surfaces, and again got the same thing. I think my game does not match up well with cores that have higher RG values and lower differential values. What I DO match up very well with is asymmetric balls. My arsenal consists of mainly asym stuff in fact. This led me to do some research for a weak covered asym, and found the MOjave.

For those who have used or seen this ball in action, what does it do? What does it not do? Any and all information would be awesome. I saw two video reviews on line for this ball. One showed the ball with a very gradual move to the pocket keeping the bowler down the boards (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pzZaIBpmVs). The other showed three MOjaves with three layouts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWAfZ3QzOFU&feature=fvw), each doing something a little bit differently (length, more boards covered, and up the boards).

I have a Mojave. Plenty of length, but it also has a lot of backend. It will easily clear the heads, even when they're dry. If you don't mind getting deep, it's a good ball on the toast. I haven't had over/under problems with it. However, it will not allow you to stay in your comfort zone as they dry out. It will retain hit and carry from inside.

If I remember correctly, the MOjave has the same cover as the Brunswick PUNISHER has.

A friend of mine has the MOjave, and uses it when his other stuff is over reading the condition. His other stuff consists of a Storm REIGN, Banshee, and Recharge.

The ball let's him square up a bit when the others want to hook more and more, and still retain good power at the pins.

He has it drilled with the pin about 2 1/2 inches from his pap, and the MB close to his track to help smooth out the reaction on the dry, spotty third game conditions, but it still hits and finishes plenty hard.

Mine was pin next to fingers mb out about 2 inches maybe a hair less.

It was pretty good. easy to control the backend but it had enough punch to get around the corner, could get deep easily with it cleared the heads very well.

It is a great ball. I would drill it to go long just like you would a ball with more texture.

I'm not 100% positive, but I thought it had a PK17 pearl cover??

The Punisher was one mutha of a flippy ball. The Mojave CAN have a strong backend, depending on how much oil you use it on and how it is drileld, but my friend's did not. I'm trying to get hold of his as he wants to sell it.

My friend's also. It moved pins pretty darn well. His is about 5", with about a 60 degree Drill angle. It'sll be about 5.5" pin-PAP for me. If I can get it, I'll keep the same drilling.

Fairly certain that the MOjave has a variant of PK17 on it. The Sahara has a variant of the N'Control coverstock on it.
