mojave vs sahara
« on: August 04, 2008, 09:57:57 PM »
How do these two balls compare? I would think that with the ez rev core, the mojave would be stronger.

I asked Mo last week about them and he said the Mojave was 3 and 2 weaker than the Sahara. I hope this helps

the Mojave does have the EZ Rev core, but it has been modified to allow the ball with the weaker cover to handle med-dry lane conditions.

I just got the ntense and I was looking for something to replace my sahara due to cracking. I can't decide between the mojave, solid levrg,or awesome finish. I would like something that is about the same strength as the sahara. I guess I could always get another sahara but I would like to try something new.

also the rg on the Mojave is much higher than the Sahara!  Later revving core must be in the densities poured!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS Sahara is a medium light ball depending on setup(a great ball too!)  Not a desert ball.  Mojave looks like a desert ball.

In addition to the higher RG on the Mojave...2.620 vs. 2.540 on the Sahara,
The Mojave also has less flare potentional than the Sahara (.032 total diff vs. .045 total diff. on Sahara).

The asymmetrical diff. is also lower, at .008 vs. .015 on the Sahara.

And to top it of, the cover on the Mojave is milder also it is PK17 Pearl, while the Sahara was 'N Control Power Boost.

Personally, I would think the Solid LevRG would be closer to the Sahara than the Mojave.  IMO the MOJave would be too straight.

Solid LevRG is going to be stronger than the Sahara.
Solid LevRG has the EZ Rev core and a stronger cover than the Sahara.

I have a Sahara for sale...but unfortunately it is lefty.  And two drill!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I think it is a wonderful ball, just a notch beneath balls like an X factor, and other stong pearls but surprisingly I've used on both oily shots to supply good backend when some dry could be found on the sides!
Also on fairly dry to play inside and get nice recovery.  A notch above the power grooves in strengh, but I find the N powerboost a cleaner cover than the PK17 which is early and smooth to my eye!

When I taked with Mo at the trade show I asked him that same question. His answer was 3 and 2 weaker.

Does anyone know what Brunswick cover is used on the Mojave? N'Control Power Boost from the Sahara, too, or something different?

But was it a reputable source?  All I can say is that they don't share the same coverstock name on Morich's site.

PK 17 is the cover on the Mojave.  Sahara had the N-control coverstock.
