Morich Arsenal and Minotaur questions
« on: November 01, 2004, 10:35:58 AM »
Ever since I went to the PBA Regional at Country Club Lanes in Baltimore in August and saw a Ravage or Mayhem on almost every rack in the center both squads I've been intrigued by Morich ever since.  I recently picked up a Colosuss and it's a nice little ball.  My layout is similar to the Control layout for a high track player(I am on the lower side of a medium track player though) with the pin 2 1/2 inches from the PAP, C.G about 3 1/2 from the PAP and the MB under the thumb.  I hit the ball with clean and polish from track and it's a great first ball out of the bag when I need to open up the lane and look for friction.  Based on that, what could I put around it for a nice little 4 ball arsenal?  Most of the sport and collegiate patterns I see on the east coast are either dry househots or shorter sport conditions.  Would a setup of two Ravages(One sharp drill, one stable/forward roll drill) and a Total or Mayhem for the odd case of flooded heads and midlane be suitable?  Or should I look for some of the older equipment like the Colosuss Pearl, Minotaur or Pioneer for the drier sides of medium and go with a Ravage and Total or Mayhem on top of the Colosuss?

Speaking of the Minotaur, it says it's for lighter-medium conditions.  How is that possible with that dull particle surface and that assymetrical block?  What condition is the Minotaur really best suited on?  Would that be a good choice for the lighter side of medium and how well will it push through the heads?  I have a speed of 16.2(17.6 release speed) and a revrate in the 350s FYI.
