new to morich
« on: January 30, 2006, 01:39:26 PM »
ok so I've made up my mind I'm gonna try out MoRich gear....i have a Ravage, Shock and Awe, Total Shock and Awe, and possibly Sahara....how would these compare to Brunswicks
Vapor Zone, Smokin Inferno, Ultimate Inferno and Rampage? Does MoRich gear roll early like brunswick gear? and how would you say they carry???
....I'm really hyped about the change i hope i like it other wise this is gonna be one expensive experiment

why are you making the change if you seem to know little about their characteristics? Not being a jerk, honest question

check out the boards.

Morich has some great stuff.  Strong asymmetrical balls have a lot of versatility and potential strength. If you liked the Vapor, you'll love the S&A.

All the balls you picked would make a great arsenal.

Just makes sure (and you 'll find this on the boards as well) ...but make sure your driller is familiar with Morich stuff and knows your game well.  If not, your chances of NOT being happy go up exponentially!

Good luck!

I echo jeffrevs's comments.

with the most general drllings:
shock & awe ~ vapor zone
total shock and awe probably ~ strike zone
sahara probably ~ power groove pearl
ravage probably ~ highly polished nemesis

"~" means approximates.

You cannot say that brunswicks balls roll early any longer. That idea was invalid sometime around 1995.

Your driller must be INTIMATELY aquainted with both MoRich drilling procedures AND your personal style, or just don't waste your money. You will be in for a major disappointment, grief and stress.

shut the F*** up and bowl damn it...

Any strong asymmetric balls needs this type of care and knowledge! Do a search on the Morich forum, you'll find tons of info there!

It is my experience and I don't know if this applies to others but the Morich cores are fairly sensitive to different drillings.

1) the very strong mass bias vanguard core(shock and awe, Total S&A, and seek and Destroy and WMB) cannot be drilled with the mass bias farther than the thumb from PAP.  ie no mass bias on (on edit) TRACK!!!.  Earlier series...Ravage...Sahara...Total that drilling is possible!
This situation now exists on all strong mass bias(say mass bias factor over .18) balls from all companies.

2) My experience shows disastrous results (for me anyway) with pin above bridge with Morich balls) ...I see this from many of our big hands bowlers also who want length....instead they just get forward roll at the end of the break with not much pop! (I have used this drilling with other balls and get tremendous backend with this drilling from other companies balls that I have drilled).
The only experience I have with this drilling with other companies MASS bias balls is an Impulse zone...almost over bridge...Tremendous backend.
SO if you want attack angle for Morich I don't usually recommend pins any farther over than the ring finger.
(at Buddies...they used to have a Morich drill sheet that noted that pins near 2 1/2 pin to pap had more side roll at end of pattern....pins near 5 3/4 pin to pap had more forward roll...and all pin positions from 2 1/2 to 5 3/4 had the SAME amount of flare(this is different than many balls).

3.  After that....they are great hooking and hitting balls....and great cores.
I LOOOVVVVE my Total Annhilation!  I also own a Sahara...and a Mayhem(undrilled)

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I don't use the standard Morich drill sheet...I have another drillsheet that he created to explain standard assymetric drillings...flip assymetric drillings and supersymmetric drillings(hook like symmetric...hit like assymetric), and symmetric drillings!  LOVE it!
PPS if you need to get in touch with me on any of this....TODAY is NOT the day!

Maybe Arte Johnson?  Ruth Buzzi and he were a riot.

I was thinking maybe Sammy Davis Jr.  but maybe not....."sock it to me!"
