Seek & Destroy Mini Review

Layout: 4 1/2" Pin to PAP, 5 1/4 MB to PAP no Xhole.  Pin 3 1/4" above the midline
Surface Condition of ball: 2000 abralon
Conditions: Medium length house shot 38ft. Bowled on after 5 hours of open play.  Very dry outsides, spotty yet substantial oil from 7-7.

I like this guy!  The first thing I immediately noticed upon the first shot was the energy retention and how much exaggerated the shape of the breakpoint is when it comes around the corner.  My first shot leaked wayyy outside and appeared as if the ball was rolling out, then all of a sudden I see some major torquing action going on in the midlane and YANK! around the corner the ball came with a burst of energy to crush the pocket.  After I picked my jaw up off of the approach I thought it had to be the extreme bounce that this center has and I made a 7 board move left with my feet, and 4 board left move with my eyes.  Being this deep I decided to really whack on it in attempt of seeing the ball burn up and lose energy.

No. Such. Luck.

Deep inside of 4th arrow out to 6-8 boards Seek & Destroy seemed to be at home.  There was no sign of early roll-out or placking at the pocket.  Seek and Destroy came swooping back to the hole every time and seemed to get stronger the deeper and deeper I got.  This particle solid retains energy like a polished resin and truely gave me a look I didn't expect.

Thinking the lanes were somewhat to blame for making the ball look so good, I put it away and threw 3 of my other balls for the next three games.  (Specs for the following balls are in my profile: Wicked, Bruiser #1, and Powergroove).  None of these three balls gave me a decent look on this broken down condition.  I fought with severe over under from the Wicked and Bruiser(Especially the more boards I tried to cover), and my "rico" drilled Powergroove Sanded only found the pocket playing right up the ditch in all of the friction.  After three games I came back with the Seek and Destroy to see how it handled even more transition with me and 3 other righties on my pair.  Suprisingly, I had the exact same look as I did 4 games ago, this time even better as I had room to tug it by 3 boards.  Even when I got as deep as 23-25(with the ball), Seek and Destroy still showed no signs of placking at the pocket.  Towards the end of Game 5 I was driving through the hole so late and hard that I left 3 wrap tenpins(some of the hardest I've left in awhile).

All and all I can attribute the great look of the Seek and Destroy to proper layout, surface, and lane play/management.  I suspect this ball will need a sufficient amount of head oil to be effective on any house shot, especially in a sanded state, but for those looking for that "ever moving ball" this ball with the proper layout could have you standing deeper than you have in years.

I'm so impressed, for Christmas I might have to treat myself to another one with an Asymmetrical Flip drilling.  To sum things up, think front and midlane read of the Weapon of Mass Bias, with the backend strength of a Polished Total Shock and Awe.  Truely Impressive.
