Suggestion layout for my 2nd AH please
« on: March 12, 2007, 10:00:31 AM »
I've had my Awesome Hook for six months now and it works great for me on heavy to heavy medium patterns. I'm going to drill a second one up so I can change down to when the heads starts to go and to use it for mediums. I'd prefer that this one would get into a roll quickly as it encounters friction. Could I have some layout suggestions and surface prep please.

The layout of my existing AH is: 3 1/4 pin to pap; 4 3/8 mb to pap.(45deg); pin 2 1/2 above midline(level with finger holes); My span is 4 1/2. My axis is 4 1/2 over and 1/2 up. 600 abralon finish.

I'm planning on drilling it up in the next couple of days. Please help. Thank you very much.

Tempo do you know your axis tilt? It will help in a layout suggestion.

I've never really measured it using my track diameter but my track is fairly low therefore my shorter axis coordinate, also visually it looks quite high. My guess is around 20 to 25 degree. Thanks.

Do you go around the side of the ball or up the back of the ball at release ?

Approx. what is your rev rate and ball speed ?

I most certainly do not go up the back the ball. My hand has a mind of its own and tend to turn itself too soon too early. For months I've been trying to get my thumb out of the ball sooner and stay behind the ball but have no luck.

Are you actually the guy on those videos with a big Morich banner hanging on the background? I love your the way you throw the ball. Is there a simple fix to a late thumb release?

....Sorry, I'm kind of hijacking my own forum...

rev rate ~ 270. speed off had ~ 17mph.
