WMB vs Seek and Destroy
« on: January 28, 2007, 09:41:41 AM »
Just curious as to which ball will handle more oil.  It appears the WMB would be a smoother overall ball that the seek and destroy, other than that are there any other differences, oil handling capacity, etc.

From what I understand, I asked this question before and the S&D would be the better for heavier oil. The WMB will handle a fair share, but won't enough on heavy oil.

For me, if you put a particle and a reactive at the same surface prep, the particle will always be sooner. Its like a car tire with studs for winter, and those without..the ones with studs (particle cover balls) have more traction and will create more friction.

With that said, I would lookt at the Seek n Destroy. I understand this was not one of your 2 choices, but may be the best option for a long heavily oiled pattern!

That was a response given to me by Clint Daley when I asked if a BVP Mammoth or Awesome Hook would work best on heavy oil.

Thank you finally, someone who knows what they are talking about, a particle ball will always handle more oil, just because it dosent have a big snapping backend as reactives doesent mean it hooks less.

No, not always. Most of the time yes, but there are exceptions to the rule. The TSA is not a particle but, it handles more oil than either of them due to the core and soon it revs up. With a polished TSA, I still need almost heavy oil to use it by the strength of the core. Yes, it is a Vanguard and it looks almost the same on paper but, it is a whole different animal vs. the Seek and WMB. BTW, I have thrown and I do own these balls so, I know. I am not just talking out of my butt here.

I have owned all three of these and can tell you that the seek and destroy in out of box condition will handle the most oil. The wmb is more of a control ball on oil and the tsa is not an oil monster at all. The Tsa is my favorite oil in the heads and dry on the backend type of ball. I actually had to polish all three of these because I rarely see enough oil to leave them in oob condition. Of these three, the wmb is my favorite. The carry is unbelievable.

Slop, I would like to know where you bowl, because of these three, the TSA is definitely the weakest for me as far as overall movement on oil.

Thanks,

Scott

Actually, I have still not found a lane where there is enough oil for the TSA. It seems to labor down the lane yet, it is hooking the minute it comes out of my hand. I have used the Seek quite a few times with great success where the TSA would still burn up and anything pearl with just have 60ft of slide down the lane. I have highly polished the TSA and it still needs almost heavy oil. Mine is drilled 5X5.

This coming from the guy who thinks a Trifecta is a true oil ball and the same guy who does not own a Morich and has not thrown them. Got news for ya, you are talking out of your anus once again. Why dont you gain some expereince with this stuff and find out for yourself instead of once again shooting your mouth off.

Slop, I am just commenting on what I come across, but I still say that the WMB and the Seek and Destroy are stronger balls, that is what this post was about. As far as seeing enough oil with the TSA polished, I just don't know where you are coming from. I love that ball, but not on a flood. I throw a ton of revs and usually throw a lot of speed and the TSA is nowhere near as strong as the other two. I am just wondering where you bowl and what kind of condition you encounter. I realize across the country we all see different stuff, but I can't imagine a flood where this ball would hook TOO MUCH.

Just my two cents worth.
