I don't understand Walter Ray's choice on playing his line or his equipment. Whatever that pink piece of garbage he was using, he should of never have used that. I've seen this man perform in tv and in person more then about anyone and he is NOT the type usually to change balls. So in the 3rd frame he switches balls to a Seek and Destroy I belive and shreads the rack and strikes using the same line. Then he goes back to the other ball, switches lines and is dead in the water attempting to go more inside and straight or giving it some room to the right. Neither one worked and the split and bad ball reaction showed. Then in a later frame he does his annual "vent someone at the crowd" for his own mistake. He wasn't prepared going in the match and should of known better going against one of the toughest tv and match play bowlers ever being Norm Duke.

I'm sure that was an Awesome Flip, but I do agree that he should have gone w/the S&D, even though the shot he threw went a little flat, it still carried.

First off that "pink piece of garbage" is a Morich Awesome Flip and it is a great ball.  Mo said that it was just too much reaction for the line he chose to play. Walter is one of the best to ever play this game but he is human and made a bad shot and paid for it.  Duke reaction wasn't that great at all the first game but it was enough to win. Obviously it was great reaction in the finals.

pin above middle finger it looked like, yes ?

Brian,
Randy Pederson was saying from the moment the cameras came on that WRW did NOT have a good line! AND.... he was strugging! Going back and forth between balls, etc, etc.....

His first few shots w/ the AF looked nice, especially the first one.  If Mo had told Team Morich that the AF was too much for the line WRW was playing....after what I saw...I'd have to agree!  Once he adjusted, he DID throw some nice shots from further in....but it was still too touch and go.

I also agree, the S&D looked a little light....but carried!  Light hits carry that house....TRUST ME!  For those who know.....did WRW have other S&Ds or AF's there with him w/ different drillings ?

I saw a couple things, not sure what to do when he lost the outside line, and his ball choice for the line he was playing was suspect. He is human, therefore he is still capable of making errors.

The AF seemed to be a bit too flippy on the backend for that tight of a line.  Looked like he was trying to frozen rope it into the hole and the ball is just too strong in the back for that.
