Arsenal of all Motiv
« on: September 17, 2012, 03:50:28 PM »
Going to go completely Motiv this season. The last 2 years been using a little bit of everything. Pretty much finished out the end of last season throwing all Motiv and also this summer as well.

I love their stuff so far. IMHO i think they have some of the best stuff on the market today.  Some of the better looking balls as well.

My arsenal this year will look like this( strongest to weakest)

Sigma Hybrid
Sigma Tour
GT 1
Thrash
Sniper

Hopefully gonna add to that by getting a 2 Cruel and a Primal Scream, possibly even a Primal Impulse to add another pearl in there.

I am so glad I am throwing Motiv. For a smaller company(that's getting bigger by the day) they put out a great product. They have great customer service and I will stand by them.

Unusual to see a GT1 in the mix. Not a lot of those left around.

I went all Motiv as well. Their stuff reminds me of Brunswick back in like the 90's, very hard hitting. Heres what i got:

Ascent Pearl
Raptor P7
Sigma Hybrid
Cruel C51
Primal TV4

pocketsmasher51582 if your looking to get more Motiv stock thebowlingfactory.com has the Primal TV4 and the Cruel C51 on closeout for 80 dollars. And i have to say the TV4 is probably the hardest hitting ball i have ever thrown and at 80 bucks each its not like your taking much of a hit to the wallet.

Got  NIB a few months ago. Absolutely love it. Not as strong as i thought but rolls and hits awesome. fits right under my Sigma tour if it starts getting a bit early.

Thanks for the tip on the TV4 and Cruel edpup316. I will look into them.

I used to use a GT1 I received at the BTM Super School a couple of years back and loved it. I currently have one NIB that I'm tempted to drill, but have fought off the urge so far. LOL

I love my SR2, which is pretty much the same as your Sigma Tour, just a different coverstock finish from watching others throw the Sigma. The Cruel is a nice ball and a great value from the site edpup316 mentioned. But the real steal is the Primal TV4. You want to get that ball.

I have a Raptor Attack I bought here from Charlest. Still have not drilled it yet as I'm not sure where it will fit in my arsenal.

My Primal Impulse has paid for itself several times already. I don't find it to be the "back-end monster" that Motiv claims it to be, but a great control piece when nothing else seems to work.

Nor did I Milo.  Now I believe the Primal Scream to be that ball I thought I would see out of the PI.

Good to hear. I'll have to add the 'Scream to my arsenal then.  ;D

Primal Scream for medium to medium-heavy depending on your stats., lane condition, lane surface and ball surface of course.  The PI for me read the lane kind of iffy as the cover is strong and didn't match up with the "frictious" nature of the house where I bowl leagues at.  I think it was more that than any factor.

No Motiv arsenal is complete without a solid Ascent. This ball is a must for short oil, or later games in tournament blocks where you can't use your more aggressive stuff anymore.

The Ascent saved me in the last tournament I bowled in when the 2Cruel had to go back in the bag. The control and predictability of this piece is phenomenal.

I've been thinking of getting one. Are you using box finish? I suspect I would need a bit more shine.

I haven't adjusted the cover on the solid Ascent yet. It hasn't over reacted in the situations I've used it in. But I see where you're coming from. At first glance the 2000 wet sand would seem like it's too much surface, but it's been the perfect step down when the 2Cruel or Raptor P7 start to be too much.

I also picked up a Pearl Ascent as a step down from the solid if things get too toasty. It's been a fun ball to practice with, but I haven't had the need to use it in real action.

My GT1 rolls awesome. Its not weak by any standards but it definitely fills a gap in my  bag.

My Sigma Tour is my benchmark ball. It isn't a hook monster but i love how it reacts. It will almost hook on anything.  My Hybrid i has been kind of iffy for me so far. I haven't thrown it alot of games but it gives me somewhat inconsistent results pending on the condition. I do like it though because it is stronger than my Sigma Tour.  I also like my Thrash Because it goes longer than my Sigma Tour and has a bit of a smoother reaction on the back end.  I am hoping to get a 2 Cruel in the near future for my "Hook"R, LOL. It would fit above my Hybrid.

I'm also in the process of possibly trading my Too Reckless(which I wont be throwing ever again because of me throwing all Motiv) for a Primal Impulse.

I'm not officially sold on getting a Primal Scream but it is an option in the future. As far as me getting a Primal TV4 like Milo said that is also a possibility. For 80 bucks I can keep it for a bit and not drill but I'm sure i will want to drill it if i do get it.

Again I am so glad I started throwing Motiv's equipment. They put out a great product and stand by their stuff. Hands down you have me as a loyal customer.
