Ascent Apex Question
« on: January 08, 2017, 09:59:10 PM »
I have a chance at a NIB Ascent Apex, I was wondering if anyone is able to speak to how this ball compares to the Roto Grip Mercury and the Storm Tropical Heat Pearl.

For me, the AA is cleaner, more angular, and slightly weaker than the THP. I have the Blue AA and I had a Purple/Orange THP. I do not have any experience with the Mercury.

If I put a weaker drilling on the apex do you think I could put a meaningful difference of reaction between it and the THP?

How many games are on your THP? If it's older, then the AA may be stronger due to the fresh cover.

I had it for half a season, then had a 4 year layoff from the sport. So it is still in good shape.

I'd put your favorite sym layout on it and let'er rip. Or a similar layout to the THP if you like the way it rolls, but need more off the spot downlane.
