What Motiv balls have been working at nationals? I am considering a Sigma Hybrid or a Thrash for the fresh.

I'm going to be there tomorrow evening and I'm taking my GT1, QZ2 Backdraft and maybe my RX1 Silver. Bowling on fresh oil both days so I'll post a full update Friday afternoon on how it went with those balls.

I bowled this weekend and used a pin up SR2 the last game of team (606) and all of singles (653) and had a very good look and carry with it. For me it was all about equipment that controlled the midlane and rolled\continued off the spot. I used 2 different pin down Taboo's (one with surface and one with out) to start team and in all of doubles. (doubles pair was much softer and took longer to break down, probably based on shift infront of us. we bowled 9:25AM shift)

The Thrash might not be bad for start of team but I would think it would loose angle as you go and have to get deeper. Watched several Sigma's stay playable for long stretches so a Sigma Hybrid with a taller pin my work as well.

Very interesting. I really enjoy reading comments from different perspectives. I am leaning toward the Sigma Hybrid because I believe it is a little earlier rolling. My only concern is controlling the mid-lane and move at the end of the pattern. The Thrash seems to be the best ball for blending the pattern. I have a Brunswick Lethal Revolver that gets around the corner very well when I have to move left and open them up so that's not a problem.

I have a little time to decide so I will keep reading the comments from people with experience.

I used a raptor for dbls/singles....excellent look and carry for singles....672...but had to move way in

Got home from Baton Rouge early yesterday morning and felt pretty good with what I did on my first time in the tournement. GT1 gave me a very good read throughout the tournament. Since I'm more of a straight bowler, I was able to play it straight up the 10 board to about 7-8 and it didn't really jump that hard on the backend even with a slower ball speed. Only time I came across issues with the GT1 is throwing it outside the 7 board (which I didn't do very much) and during transition when everyone was just spraying the oil everywhere.

When I knew it was time to change balls I went to the QZ2 Backdraft and played 15-16 to 8 and it was just beautiful reaction after beautiful reaction. I did polish it before I left for Nationals and I'm glad that I did. Team event I did quite well and doubles/singles wasn't bad but it could have been better expecially with the splits and spare pickups.

I would say the Sigma Hybrid at 2000 grit would be a good choice to have on the fresh oil. But if you get the Thrash I would definitely watch your ball speed because I noticed that ball speed is very sensitive there, expecially with medium oil balls.
