Motiv Evoke video and written review

I tested this ball on our typical house shot pattern and the Evoke is stronger than I thought. I started laying down the ball inside the second arrow and the Evoke was too much ball, hooking a bit early. Once I moved inside, the Evoke was money. This ball provides a strong and early roll that promotes a smooth transition with great continuation when it exits the pattern.

The ball provides a strong midlane read and a smooth and predictable backend motion. If I had to use only one word to define the Evoke that word would be SMOOTH.

The ball is forgiving when I missed my mark, I just had to make sure to not miss too far left or the ball won’t have enough recovery to hit the pocket. Misses inside were more forgiving and the ball provided enough hold to stay in line to the pocket. To be honest, I felt that I just needed to throw the ball half decent and the Evoke did the rest, it is more forgiving than I thought it would be for a strong asymmetrical solid.

For me, the Evoke will be a great benchmark ball on fresh. The ball is so easy to read and it is the perfect ball to start with and depending on what I see I can stay with it or do the proper adjustments.

The Evoke provided enough hook through the oil to create enough angle down lane. I had a great look with this ball and I was able to move right and the ball still had enough recovery to hit the pocket. I feel that the Evoke is a great ball to control the breakpoint and a great option to play on fresh, but when you need to open up the lane, Motiv has better options like the Primal Shock or the Nuclear Forge to play steeper angles and create more shape down the lane.

The Evoke will fit into a lot of different bowling styles and it will be a ball that can be used on a great variety of conditions. On a house shot, this ball will be a great option to use on fresh oil and to blend the pattern and fight wet/dry conditions. The Evoke will also be a great ball for the tournament bowler. It will be a great weapon to use when you need to control the breakpoint and when you need a smoother motion down the lane.

Whether you are a league bowler or a tournament bowler, the Evoke is definitely a ball worth having in your bag. Thank you for watching!
