The Motiv Raptor Fury is advertised as the strongest symmetrical piece in the Motiv lineup, and they are absolutely right.
The Raptor Fury creates quick revving action with plenty of energy retention on medium and heavy oil conditions.
We had the chance to try the Raptor Fury on our house shot pattern and the first thing we noticed is that even for our low rev, speed dominant bowler the Raptor Fury is stronger than we thought.
We had to move out of our comfort zone to find a good line to the pocket. We started laying the ball around 15-16 and 6 at the breakpoint. The Fury provides a strong midlane read but it still clears the fronts easily and it saves a lot of energy to deliver a strong move down the lane.
We were able to create enough margin of error with the Raptor Fury. We only had to be careful to keep the speed up to maintain a good line to the pocket. Overall, we found a good reaction from different angles.
Compared to the latest solid releases from Motiv, like the Evoke or the Pride Dynasty, the Raptor Fury is the strongest and the one with more downline motion. The Evoke and the Dynasty are earlier and weaker overall.
Overall, The Raptor Fury has a strong midlane read without being too early and it provides a strong and predictable backend motion. For some, this ball can be used as a benchmark ball on heavier oil conditions.
The Raptor Fury has a unique shape that will be helpful to a wide variety of bowlers. We feel that this ball is best suited for medium and heavy oil conditions.
