Motiv Venom Strike Ball Strength
« on: October 22, 2012, 07:02:34 AM »
For those that have drilled one and rolled it on different lane patterns.  Where do you see the new Venom Strike falling in Motiv's line-up for strength?

Motiv lists it for light-medium but looking at what is out there as of right now I see it more for a medium if not higher strength.  What say you?

Anyone done any surface changes to use it and what did you see?

I have thrown about 10 games with the Venom Strike. The
ball is all I expected it to be.Cleared the heads and mid-lane
without me forcing to the spot.Used it on a 39'/42' house shots.
The ball rolled from the breakpoint  to the pins
with a smooth arc. Never got any drastic overreaction.

The ease through the lane, let me play  between 3-4 arrow
with confidence. This really helped my loosen my swing.
Knowing that from hand to breakpoint  the ball was not going
to  burn up early. The Venom Strike is more even and continuous
than the Sigma Tour. With the low diff.I didn't have to feed
it through the pattern. It's stronger than the Thrash for me.

The Venom Strike is best for medium to medium light oil. It's
not really a dry lane ball. It's a great ball to use when
the lanes start to transition. The low diff.keeps the ball from
flaring too much.

This ball fills the gap between my Sigma Tour and Thrash.

So if I'm interpreting correctly, for you, the Venom Strike is more aggressive than the Thrash?

Yes that is correct Steven.I forgot to include the 3 games it used on a fresh 40' tournament shot.I played 3 arrow out to the breakpoint at 6.The ball recovered nicely.Nice revs in the midlane because
of the low RG core, but the lower diff. helped it get to the spot with burning up.It never jumped
when it encounter friction.I'm going to film the video for it Wednesday 10/24/1012.Then hoping to get it completed by Friday or Saturday. Will use a GT1 with a similar drilling and  surface at 3000 grit to show the difference in the two balls.

Thanks for the quick response. The initial videos I've seen suggest the Venom is stronger than advertised. I was hoping for the Venom to fill the gap between the Ascent and the Thrash, but I'll still find a place for it. Very nice looking piece.

I haven't adjusted the surface on the Venom Strike yet.But my instincts says,it will be a
good great ball power players. And rev dominate players.
