Trident Shield?
« on: November 29, 2016, 09:05:02 AM »
So, what is this new Motiv ball called the "Trident Shield" supposed to be like? Approved by the USBC on November 15th.
Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Golden Jackal, Motiv Hydra and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA.

Stock pictures are hard to get a feel for but that looks like a ball that has a lot of surface on it. Probably a solid. If it's not an overseas release I would guess it's going to be the new resident in the top left corner of Motiv's ball chart. Didn't think the Jackal Carnage would last long there as a ball that wasn't released as a ball to be sold in pro shops.

Every ball on the approved list is sanded to 500 grit before the picture is taken I believe

Ah, I didn't know that. Just found out about the stock pictures a few months ago.  :D

If that's the case then I could see it being a pearl too like Doom said. Either top corner of the ball chart makes sense to me.

Solid cover. My guess is overseas version of the Jackal LE.

If it's US, I bet the Remix goes bye-bye. Fear seems to be the Primal ball to have now.

Has a pearl look to me. Hope it replaced the remix. Both people I know with the remix to replace the original jackal hate it

I love my Fear. Works great for a 12# ball like my Thrash Frenzy does. It and my Thrash Frenzy are a perfect pair for THS conditions I bowl on.

Nice. Them actually making a pearl Coercion cover is a good thing to see. Maybe they will bring it stateside... maybe.

I like the look and name of the Jackal Ghost posted above too.
