Michigan Tuesday Night Sweeper!
« on: February 14, 2008, 01:17:50 PM »
Any of you guys in the oakland county area?

Late night sweeper, Airway Lanes in Waterford, 2 games to qualify, 16 advance to match play.

Edit: 3/5/2008: Rates have been raised from $15 to $20 bux! Small increase but it goes into the prize fund, 3rd and 4th will still receive DOUBLE their money back!

As of late the cut has been around 410-426, not to rough.

Come out to BOOOOOOWWWWWWWWL!!! I'll be there chucking the rock!

We need more BR BOWLERS!!!!!!! Scared money don't make money people!!!!!

Edit 3/13/2008: After the first week or rate increase there were 41 PEOPLE!!!The only thing that suffered was jackpots, less than 20 people got in that.FIRST PLACE PAID 350!!!!

Maybe we'll make the trip down. Norris might be interested in this thing if the money is worth the drive. I know Nolen and Norris are bowling the US Open next week so there's 2 open spots in the cut.

What time does this start?

When we are getting 40 + like we have been the past two weeks first is paying out $350 or so...$330 profit..jackpots are $6 and are paying from $50-$70 every week.

We start right around 10:30 p.m.  None the less it's a good time.

Are they putting out any special shot for this or is this on the burn after the ladies bowl? Or should I say carry down since the majority of them are probably throwing plastic pushing the oil all over the place?

After the Open, I'll bring a few guys down and see what it's like after making the drive.

I've heard of Thunderbowl and Vision running some sweepers and I think they are on Tuesday nights also. Good money from the Thunderbowl sweepers and not 1 group of guys dominate them each week.

I'll make some calls tonight and see if I can get some guys from that side of town to come on down after the Open.

Thunderbowl's sweepers are on Sunday night from what I was just told. Vision's pay more so they get more people there. We'll see what group we can bring in.

Nope, sloppy, spotty, carrydown, semi-soupy.

BRING IT!!!! BR is gonna take over the sweeper! lol!

EDIT: We have had a different winner every week, i don't think we have had one person dominate, but straighter is greater and Ken Simonson "Simo" made it to the final 2 weeks in a row, losing both times.

Hey Ray, call up to Hazel Park Bowl.  They used to run sweepers on Sunday nights with a guaranteed $500 first place pay out....it's like $45 to get in though....but just a heads up.

Chris Simonson is good at up the boards, Doesn't have enough when they get nasty though or has to slow hook the lane. He's a good bowler though but still needs to learn a few new tricks.

Hazel Park isn't going to run the Sunday sweepers anymore because of Thunderbowl's sweeper and they know they can't compete with them. Hazel Parks sweepers always had the same guys making the finals each week also. 3 guys always dominated them, of course it didn't hurt they were always on the same pair and broke them down the correct way to open the shot up.

I was unaware they were doing away with the Sweepers at HP C2, thanks for the info.  I believe they are still doing the once in a while special sweepers though correct?

I'm sure they will still have the special big money sweepers. I'll just be using the Tuesday sweepers as practice to get my body back in shape again after taking time off for my back to heal up.

That wasn't a bad sweeper last night, they need to get more people and bring up the prize fund. Cut was low for how easy the lanes are there to get to the pocket, a LOT of flush 10's from all kinds of angles. Just too far to drive to be getting home at 2:30 am just to be up at 5am for work again.

Hey man, I don't bowl them anymore, because I live in Mt. Pleasant, but I think they're still going on.

www.airwaylanes.com should have some info under bowling, then tuesday sweepers at the top if thy're still doing them.
