Willow Creek Classic in Green Bay, WI

Can anyone provide some info on this tournament, such as the oil pattern they put down, how its plays, what type of equipment seems to work best etc.

Here is a link to their website http://www.willowcreeklanes.com/index.html

It depends on your game.

No matter what the lanes aren't forgiving.

If you've got alot of hand move in to the cheap seat way inside and let'er fly.

If your a straighty play out by the gutter straight up.

If your a lefty.
Hope you've got 4 "good" righties to carry you.

Actually if your a lefty its not bad if inside of 3rd arrow is your  thing.
I shot 640,640 playing in on the fresh.
But on the toast it wasn't pretty.
I usually go there with some pretty good players and our best this year was 3000 or so

I'm a righty with decent speed and lots of heavy forward roll, shot 600, 680 on fresh and 600,680 on the burn. 2nd shift is move 2 and 1 left if you hit the hole; 4 and 2 left if you miss it.....a lot of it depends on who you follow and who you cross with.

Will roll it 4 times this year.  Sucked the first weekend.  Lil 600 and a mid 6 last 2 times.  Will bowl Sat. if you are going to be there Sat. PM me and I'll get you my name UP Steel.

Generally, I play 3rd arrow not out past 8...OB. I'm a righty. A guy who has great ball speed repeatability and hand action like Jeff Nimke can play out.  I never find a good line outside.

Lane condition is a basic 3:1 sport pattern.  This is what I use most of the time Legends NS2, DT Black Solid Vendetta, Visionary Solid Ogre and Black and Purple and a LM/L Buzz maybe a C300 HyJinx.  All this equipment is good for me on sport type patterns.  Using stacked layouts with the puddle in the middle THS is not going to work here.  No tug and no miss outside.  Straight is good but don't fluff outside.

Scott,
What time saturday?
I might stop in on my way to another tournament.

I wouldn't mind giving willow one last shot for the year.
Like to be tortured I guess.

Thanks for the replies, they are greatly appreciated. Our team is scheduled for noon on Saturday, but due to unfortunate circumstances two of our bowlers will not be able to attend. We do have possible replacements lined up, but nothing is set in stone. Hopefully we will know more by tomorrow evening.

Ive bowled with rob_mil13. Very good bowler, though maybe he knows it and can be a bit grating. But he is right. Watch who you bowl with and after cuz the oil does and will move often. Maybe like a reverse block i wold say.

I've never scored well in the WCC but I've managed to take home decent bracket money.  I'd have to say this was as close to a 2:1 shot.  I tried to play around fourth(maybe closer to 18) arrow up the back of the ball with nothing outside of 12 or so.  One thing to remember, when you start leaving 4-pins, if you're a righty, move one board left.  Only late into the third game, if you've got a few friends playing a similar line, you might end up with a nice fifth arrow shot.  All of those lefties will be happy with you if that's the case.

FYI......no here's the depends thing.....I've seen John roll the ball although not a lot. 230 can amp up the ball speed and axis rotation. I can play out farther than John probably can cuz I am a tweener with less revs and get it back further because of my less ball speed although it can be sketchy.

rob_mil......from what I remember is more up the back of the ball and mucho ball speed. Rob can play more nearer th track than I can because I am old.....think Don Cook....sheesh no sweater for me in May at WC. I wish I could hit the line as well.

UPSteel--Here's the deal with WC....they only give ya 1 practice ball per lane try and find something early on and as all these guys will tell ya make your spares...it's a lot like Natl's.

Hope to see ya Sat.

The rest of us either work for the man or are in private industry that we can weasel something out of.

Scott,
I'll try and stop for the noon squad.

Spares are huge at Willowcreek.

Ooops....looks like I offended hammerdoom300 - hopefully it was in my young and cocky days (back when I knew everything ) and not recently.

scotts33 hit it right on the head, I am very much up the back of the ball with decent speed and try to play closer to the track. If you're only bowling noon, you should be able to find a decent shot around 12-15. As bass said, spares are key. Hopefully you leave makeable ones, Willow has a tendency to really penalize bad shots.

GOOD LUCK!!
