This week the pro shop at Strike n Spare Lanes (Greenbrook NJ) received a letter from AMF Corp telling them they had 30 days to pack their s... and get out. Someone made them a better offer (Tony C - Big Daddy's). They didn't even have the courtesy to have the center manager tell them what was going on, why, were there any issues with them, etc. Pretty classless.
On another note, the head mechanic from AMF Strathmore came up about a week or so ago and programmed the "Strathmore" shot into the machine. When you can find a lane that has oil on it the shot is pretty nice. Speaking of oil, getting a lane with it is still a crapshoot and it hasn't sunk into the managers brain that he has to oil the lanes so they don't get burned. Last week 2 of the counties best junior bowlers (230+ averages) came up. The lanes they had were so dry that the score in the 4th frame was a 1. Yes, that's right 1! They could not get the ball to stay on the lane. The new lanes should be in great shape for the start of leagues. Pretty sad.
