maybe you won't answer this, but is the pattern going to be on anything other than a house wall?

Yvette what pattern are you using?

What difference does it make......and if you are a "pro bowler", I am sure you will be bowling the regional down the road at Forest Hill that day with $5K on top

House, sport or PBA pattern find a partner, get your entry in and bowl. All of the regulars from MD are bowling so don't let any of them lie to you like they aren't going unless the pattern is tough. Most of the guys have already snatched up a partner so stop dragging your feet.

I think you really know what he is saying.  Pattern definitely does make a difference.  Whether you need to give it out is your choice as a tournament director which is another matter.  My personal feeling about announcing the pattern is to do so makes things fair for all.  Don't give it out and there will always be some who find out what it is and may repeat may have an advantage.

Bill

MSB and myself both know how important patterns are to ANY tournament. The PBA has set an awful precedent for the industry by announcing patterns. I disagree with announcing the pattern before hand but then again, I''m old fashioned! ... But I also have relented and started announcing patterns as well.

Regardless of what is put down, bowlers chop it up and it will break down differently. I am sure that whatever Yvette or Bowlerama decide to put down, it will be fair and playable.

just don't say modified house shot, or there will be an uproar if they are the least bit difficult...

Bill, think about your Monday league, there are 2 guys averaging 200 out of 22 teams of 3's. They are the only two who don't have to round up to reach 200. The lane condition just creates a sliding scale for what you have to bowl to win or cash.

There is only one question that should be asked when it comes to tournaments, "Are you bowling or not?" What happened to the competitive nature of people? These ladies are offering us an opportunity to compete against our peers, to fatten our pockets and EVERYONE is bowling on it.

Dave, I'll tell you about Bowlerama's surface -- OLD WOOD! Ask Cavey what they were like the one year the Rhodman "tricked" them up. I tossed some 230's that got paid in the pot and I still would not vote for that mess. My ball had a big ole track in it after 4 games. RUINED MY BALL! And this was like 2005, so imagine what that surface is like now...hmmmm
