US Open Pattern Tourney
« on: April 30, 2008, 03:04:51 AM »
Ocean Lanes in NJ is holding their monthly PBA pattern tournament on May 4th at 7:00PM.  This month's is the US Open pattern.  Entry is $25, it's 3 games bowled across 3 pairs, top 8 go onto bracket style finals.  $5 brackets.  Last time I went there were something like 48 bowlers and 34 brackets; great turnout and a blast.  Of course it was on the Cheetah, so it wasn't so bad.

Please don't bowl that tournament, this center is very very pathetic. They want the highest scores in NJ so they started shaving the bottom of their pins to get them to fall easier. Please to come to this house because they are ruining the sport around here.

Im so glad people are brainwashed to thinking that if they buy a new ball they will carry everything. And its even funnier when im carrying with my 15 year old ball and they're going flat ten.

Its common knowledge about that center, they don't hide it. I bowled their for high school, and its an insanely easy house with very rude owners who are ruining the sport for us. Theres a 300 EVERY DAY in the other high school conference. Its just plain wrong.

You really werent kidding.  The way the pins were flying and being knocked down a good 4 secs after the ball hit the pocket was just like that video of the 12 strikes with 12 house balls.  It was fun and all but pins really shouldnt be flying like that.

I dunno about pins being shaved, but the pins were jumping like I don't know what.  They have a REALLY small pit in the back and things just pop out.  I bet with enough games there I might see a 7 10 picked up.  And the US Open did not play like the US Open really.  It was tight, don't get me wrong, but nothing like how it plays at Carolier.

N00dle,
I dont know if you saw him but there was this dude throwing a pyro who was just destroying the lanes.  I was bowling on his pair and pretty much everyone was just talking about him and how the pins were just flying every which way.  I did not bowl as well as I would of hoped for but this one dude you can tell had IT, it was like he was/will be coached by PBIII or something.

Noodle, unless they double stripped it, the house shot was probably showing through.
