ABS Accu Swing IV
« on: October 18, 2012, 10:04:20 AM »
Both BTM and BJI reviewed this ball in the current issues.  Does anyone know if these will be sold in the US.  I did a search and didn't see it listed in any online shops.

Also, it seems to me that both mags rated each ball very different in performance.

BTM: Asymmetric, MB .018.  Back end rating of 17.5 (I believe that is the highest rating.  Can't remember anything ever getting an 18 BE rating).  Some notes: Bowlers looking for a bigger back end motion on heavy oil will want to look at this ball. The Accu Swing IV turns the corner with authority.  When this ball saw friction the left signal turned on.  Gave all 3 testers enough traction thru the oil while still having plenty of pop at the back end.  Got all 9.5's for the heavy oil condition.

BJI: Symmetric. Breakpoint shape 15 (lower on the BJI scale). Some notes: Benchmark type rolling ball.  We saw no skid/flip, just all out arc. Remember that the move is smooth, regardless of the layout choice. Our best looks were on light to medium house shots and most broken down patterns.

Did they test the same ball?  They usually disagree on many balls but this seems like a large disparity in what they saw on the lanes.
