I would like to get everyone's honest opinion on the balls, please try to hold back some of the bashing.Regardless of your brand loyalty,I just want your honest opinions.I'm currently carrying them and thinking about dropping them from our stock.

I just think they want way too much money for them, and the fact the pba peddals them weekly and no one really uses them doesn't help much. Duke was using an alien for a while until his ace just matched up better.

I'll preface this with a big never-thrown-'em.  Given their pedigree and source, they're probably good balls.  Brunswick covers, cores, and manufacturing.  If they were priced in line with the BVP or Inferno line (maybe a couple of bucks more for the limited manufacturing quantities), they'd be just as good as anything else.

But too expensive at the price point they set.  I don't see anything to compel me to spend THAT much more for them versus something else.  This is not a Lane 1 they-charge-it-because-they-can thing.  I feel they're creating an illusion of being something above the rest and hoping no one looks too closely and it's dishonest to me.  But at a BVP/Inferno price point, I'd consider them as much as anything else.

Good points.Of the few I've drilled and sold the balls rolled very well.I don't doubt the quality since its basically made by Brunswick.Sheely you hit the nail on the head with the pricing and there isn't hardly a demand for them.I sell them drilled for less then they sell them.

I think there are a number of issues with Elite... First and foremost let me say I have never thrown one or seen anyone throw one. I think the biggest problem with Elite is that they bring nothing new to the table. They are brunswick balls that most people feel at simply just that... 300$ brunswick balls. One area that can make up for the lack of new concepts would have been looks, but nothing in the Elite line is eye catching either... Buyers love an asthetically pleasing ball that people will ask them "Wow, what is that you are throwing?" Lastly, with such a high price-point and so few selling, it is hard to develop hype. I think if Elite was to perhaps bring their prices down to the Lane#1 range, you would see more people being exposed to them and creating hype. Just because someone is throwing one on the PBA circuit does not create hype... Anyway, just my two cents, and by the way, I would drop them from my line if I were a proshop owner... I don't think they are economically viable...

I would love to get ahold of an Elite test ball, or a multiple drill, just to see what they have to offer. They are kinda pricey, but maybe I can pick up a cheap one someday.

Guessing from what TheDude tries to ask: "TCT" is the abbreviation for "Thermal Contact Technology". As with any Elite stuff, this is nothing special... just a flashy description for what ANY reactive coverstock does: when the ball leaves the oil and touches dry ground, the friction between lane and ball surface creates warmth/depletes ball energy, softens the coverstock and enhances traction for hooking action.
No secret revealed, just physics. Calling it TCT is a joke, yes, but when you look at other manufacturers' coverstock names, it is O.K. ...

Personally, I have never seen an Elite ball thrown (Except on TV) or even in real life. I think these are sound balls - but the price tag is ridiculous and I can hardly imagine someone buying it except for being sponsored by the PBA or having an ego (and money) problem? Buy a Brunswick ball, save money, and get the same technology, even at an advanced level.

I have one. Bought it with a gift certificate and got a hammer hwag zilla free. I got the elite pba shark and damn is it pretty hehe. They look alot nicer in real life than they do online and a pretty ball is always a + . Its a great ball, extreme hook and rolls nicely. If these were cheaper they would be one of if not the most popular ball out IMO.

They're appear to be decent balls, but definitely overpriced Brunswicks. A person on my league rolls an R47 and it seems lively and this guy is not a cranker and doesn't have much style to would seem to generate good pin action.

I won a Shark through a trivia contest on Phantom Radio http://www.foundation300.com/phantom/p_home.htm .  It is drilled with the pin about 3.75 inches from PAP under the ring finger and CG kicked out.  It has about a 3.5 inch deep hole in the thumb quadrant insided the VAL.

This layout is meant to read the midlane pretty early.  With the 400 grit box surface, the ball never had a chance.  It burned up way too early.  After applying polish, this ball rolls very well on longer patterns with medium volumes and medium length patterns with heavier volumes.

I bowl in a league that uses close approximations of PBA Regional lane patterns.  My shark has done very well on the longer patterns (40 ft. plus).  I also had success with it in my first PBA Regional tournament on the 40 ft. pattern.

Can't speak for their PBA line, but the Elite P43(now discontinued) I have is a sweet ball.

I've seen a number of the letter-number Elite balls around here, and they roll pretty good.  However, I've yet to see anyone use any of the PBA pattern balls, or the Alien for that matter.
