I asked Ryan about this a while back and this was his responce: The final sand of the Solaris is ~ 340 grit followed by applications of 2 compounds that get the ball to ~ 1200-1500 grit and finally a "wax" to get the ball to 2000 grit polish.

Hope this helps

+2...Solaris pearl is fast becoming my all time favorite ball!  This coming from a ball whore who purchased 10 brand new balls at full retail price just this past season alone.

I may be one of the few that did not like the Solaris Pearl in OOB cover.  But hit it with a worn 4k pad...WOW!

Hey Scrapz I just picked up a Solaris pearl here and I cant wait to see what all the fuss is about. My friend Tenpinspro Rick Leong threw his last night for the first time and he pretty much took all the money. The ball looks super in his hands. Mine is scheduled to be here on the tenth of this month. Ill report back as soon as I can get that puppy on the lanes.

Hi Armswing! Glad to hear you've picked up the Solaris Pearl.  Undoubtedly the best ball in my arsenal to date.  Let us know your impression and what layout/cover prep you opted for.
