Legends-Lane masters

Does anybody know if this company is going to release new balls before the next season. I hope so, because the Yeah Baby, New Standard ans Satisfaxion really impressed me.

Look for new releases in late July. By all accounts the new balls will be of the same exceptional quality that Legends/Lane Masters has become known for.  You will be able to see the new line at Bowl Expo June 29-30 in Orlando Florida.

Who cares about new balls?

They can cover anything from medium-light to TRUE heavy oil with the balls they have now. Core/Cover combos are excellent match-ups; power is far(, far) better than average; hook can be anything from medium to HIGH. Pins dance like there's no tomorrow.

I'm currently using an Absolute Power with mild drill and little bit extra polish for medium-light, New Standard with slight polish for medium to medium-heavy, using Yeah Baby! for Medium-hevay in up, When and IF I can find that much oil, both with label drillings.

The Guaranteed can handle True Heavy oil if you actually find that much oil.

I have tested some of the new balls and they are even better than the current ones..  Look out for
1. The New Standard 2
2. The Excellence
3. AP2 (Absolute Power 2)
4. KONG (Heavy Oil Monster) !!

They are currently being tested by The USBC and should be released in mid to late July.

Just what I need more hook monsters!

- I've already moved the pin on my current AP 1.5" towards the track just to make it usable on medium-light oil!
- Had to travel an hour and 10 minutes one way just to find a place with enough oil to TEST my Yeah Baby!
- That's why I polished my old New Standard !

I've been working with a Satifaction and at first was disappointed in the ball because it seems so much stronger that i had hoped. I think I needed to have it drilled for more length because this ball has no trouble grabbing the lane. It does have a great hit and carry when I get it to the pocket.

Harry,

I have the Absolute Power, the SatisfaXion's kissing cousin. (The SX has a flippier core with the same specs and identical coverstock, near as I can tell.

I originally had a strong drill on mine, roughly 4"x3.5", pin 2 1/2" above midline. I found it very pattern specific, with just TOO much hook. This remained true even after adding a LOT more polish, so I redrilled it to roughly 5"x4", pin 2" above midline. With that added polish (Legends own) and that milder drilled, I had a true multi-purpose ball with as much hit as I cared to apply with more or less "hand".

It became a ton of ball on a medium light shot, playing around the 3rd arrow.
Or even a light oil, when there's carrydown that my "normal" resin pearl can't handle.

On a medium to medium-heavy shot I could play the track area (in case I didn't bring my New Standard). Our house did shock us next to last week of winter league with medium-heavy oil. Since we were used to light to medium-light oil, guys with Raging Infernos, GP2s, Ultimate Infernos, sanded Power Diesels were totally lost. 3 guys on my team, 200 average bowlers in this DRY house, didn't break 520. I was shocked myself, shooting 180 first game; then re-lined up on the track and had 630 for high set on the team. (Gotta find a new team!)

Harry,

Re-drilling literally transformed mine. It is a perfect cog in my arsenal now.

I waited a while to re-drill mine and was sorry I had waited. If you must wait to re-drill, try sanding it with a finer grit, say 1000 or 1200 grit, then re-polish it.

I hear you, Harry.

Getting a spinner right this second might not help you in the near term, SOLELY because it takes some time getting used to it. THEN it takes some time learning what to do, how to do it, then how to do it slowly and patiently. Then you have to learn finesse. All the while you're learning how to do it, you're also learning what to use, how to use, when NOT to use it and which polishes, cleaners, and sanding materials to use to do what.

As we used to say in the computer biz, it's non-trivial.

However, I can't urge you strongly enough to get the ball rolling soon, s to speak, on the purchase of one. A set-up of spinner PLUS all the equipment will probably set you back the equivalent of 2 full NIB drilled balls. (As you can guess, I believe it is a worthwhile purchase.)
