Official Petition for MOTIV forum
« on: September 21, 2009, 04:04:50 AM »
It is fast becoming very appropriate for MOTIV to have a place to centralize threads.  As a dominant force in the "other" forum, I petition to create a MOTIV section.

Not only will this allow discussion to be in one easy to find place, it will also allow the videos of the gear I'll be posting over the coming weeks to be centralized.  It is my belief that MOTIV will continue to exponentially grow, as well as solidify itself as a top manufacturer.

Please give the brand the respect is deserves in the creation of a "MOTIV" equipment section.

Regards,
Justin

I second the motion.
MOTIV in the Detroit area, and the central mid-west is a fast growing brand.
I have numbers of people that I have encountered ask about MOTIV equipment and,
who makes them and what each ball does.Just on my summer sport league, and the first two weeks of my fall leagues, I have had ten people purchase MOTIV for
the first time. Each and everyone of them love what the equipment does. They
are using the polish and cleaners and rave about them. Our wholesaler in
Detroit likes the product and carries it, which makes it easier for the people
in this area to find it.The more people who see these products being used
during 300/800's are very interested. What most pro shops are waiting for is
the entry and mid-level and plastic balls before they carry MOTIV.Selling to
the lower average bowlers something they can pay less for, then become interested
in the higher end products,is what they are telling me.With that said, more
shops are finding out about MOTIV and starting to carry the brand. It will take some time but, with quality products,MOTIV is going to continue to grow.MOTIV
is very active in college, junior, and adult scratch tournaments in Michigan. This grass roots involvement during a down economy is showing people that they
do care about the bowler. The bowling balls are U.S. made with the best U.S.
chemicals and U.S. employees.During Bowl Expo there was many top bowlers
coming to the MOTIV booth asking about the company. This was a very bright spot for Motiv. With MOTIV being registered with the PBA for regional an senior
events this hopefully with help the brand get more notice across the country.
With four great balls on the market and,one more on the way, this is a great
start in first year for a new bowling equipment company.

I agree 100%

If a discontinued company like Dynothane can have a forum than I think all ball companies that actually produce new equipment should have their own forum.

Just got an email from the PBA.  in regards to membership, you get discounts on PBA registered products which apparently now includes MOTIV.  Or at least they are advertising a discounted rate for the ball.

The GX1 doesn't exist.  It was a planned release, but the GT1 was released instead.  Some Ace Mitchell price sheets show it as well.

Tech-Line designs and pours them all in house, 100% manufactured in the USA.  Tech-line has at one point in their history done work for just about every major manufacturer in various capacity.

In a nutshell, *granted drilling and surface are major factors*, the SX1 is longest, the TX1 is the smoothest, the GT1 is a superb benchmark, and the TR2 simply hooks.

The MOTIV balls are cleared for Regional and Senior PBA events, except televised events.

People people YMMV.  All bases are not covered but other manufacturers don't have all the bases covered either.

IMO the SX1 is the earliest rolling.  So you won't get me to agree that it's the longest unless you put a high gloss polish over a very smooth underneath grit AND drill the guts out of it....and that was not the intention of Motiv when the ball came out to make it a drier lane ball.  Lane conditioner stands up on top of the cover on both the SX1 and TX1 which now make them the drier and smoothest lane balls.  It's the cover that made them with this factor IMO.  One user of an SX1 that I know uses his on Shark as an underneath ball to go to.

I tend to believe real users instead of staffers that get free equipment.  Non-staffers will give an unbiased opinion.

BTW....these are NOT cheap balls.  Decent equipment I will agree.  I can base my judgement from using (1) SX1 and (2) TX1's.

BTW...since AZO has been around way longer than Motiv where's their forum?

DynoThane and Faball forums should not be deleted IMO as in the database (if the search function would work better) are hundreds of posts of valuable information

Also, if you want Motiv info go here ----> http://www.motivbowling.com/forum

It is very unfortunate you don't consider staffers opinions to be valid and unbiased.  I will completely agree there are those fanboys out there that will big up their company regardless, but I promise you one thing...  My views will be unbiased.  They have some really great gear, and are admittedly not the answer for everyone, but one thing that sets them apart is the whole attitude and vibe of the company.  They are great people completely absorbed in being the best at what they do, while not losing touch with the end user.  I have had the pleasure of talking to them pretty much daily for the last month, and these guys are different.  I'd say it comes from the 25 years of refinement.
