Pictures of my new toys drilled up...
« on: August 22, 2007, 12:52:06 PM »
I received mine on Monday and drilled them yesterday. I will be using them tomorrow and update everybody.

I used the balls tonight.  Asked for the freshest lanes and they actually had a fair amount of oil.  They drilling with the pin next to rf.  This ball was a very smooth reacting ball.  It had a nice strong arc to it.  Not real snappy. I was playing around 10 swinging to 5.  My Creature actually snapped harder but the Break covered more if that make since to you.  I also used my Break with the pin high and scuffed it with a green scotch brite.  That one was really snappy.  Outhooked other one by about 6-7 boards.  The Creature I could not really use because it just started up to early for the shot put out.  I will post more of a review once I get more games on them from league and tournament conditions.  If you have any questions please ask.

Sorry if this was discussed before but couldn't find info. Q is: do the coverstocks have anything to do with the DT soaker? If not, is the soaker going to be used in 900 Global balls?

I heard that 900G was shipping a crap load of balls overseas and they would be in limited supply here in the states.

Any truth to that?  Still haven't found them for sale anywhere online.

From my understanding, you will NOT find them from any online e-tailers...global is going to be distributors and pro shops ONLY...Eric or Newguy could answer this better for ya...

Well, since the "major" online sellers are backed by distributors (Classic or Ace) or also have pro shops (Buddies), I would guess that we would see find them for sale online.  If not they are missing out on a lot of sales.

900 Global balls will only be available through Pro Shops.  No e-tailers, no distributors.  We are starting this company for the pro shops, their influence as well as their customers will drive this company.  As for losing sales due to no internet sites....The internet seems to be the place for companies to dump product at discount prices, we will not be apart of that.

wow, great statement Eric.. I just hope enough pro shops want to sell your product.. I know my pro shop guy said that he won't be stocking any global 900 stuff.. If someone comes in the shop and wants one, he will get it then..

Many of my customers love "THE NEW". When Legends and Lane Masters 1st came about...sold a bunch (thanks to Johnny Jones and Galen helping out). Very good new about only selling to pro shops!!!! I hope Global does wonderful and some other companies follow suit.

Sounds similar to a Lane #1 approach.

Doesn't sound like a bad approach to me.  Don't know what that means for those that have to drive an hour to get to the local pro shop only to find that they don't carry 900 Global and won't order them because they are in the pockets of Ebonite and Storm.  Or for those that drill their own equipment and buy mainly on-line, either because the local shops don't carry product, don't have conveinient hours, or can't duplicate a drilling to save their arse.

Either way, I'll guess the product will find it's way to the consumer.

I did also hear that a majority of the Breaks were going overseas and there would be a 2-3 month wait for new Breaks.

No offense, but the Professional was supposed to be "pro-shops only" and it was more than easily found online.

I do like the no-distributors approach.  Cutting out the middleman probably saves everyone money.

There is a large demand overseas for the Break.  Domestically they are selling fast as well.  I dont know about the wait time you were quoted.  As for shops that dont have it, i have had customers contact me through this website and asked me to speak with their shop to send a ball for them.  This has worked fine so far.  If a shop would rather pass on a confirmed sell, they are in this for the wrong reason.    Business is business and all answer to the mighty dollar.

I for one hate to hear that your products will not be available online. I understand your reasoning, but I really think you are gonna hurt your own sales. I was looking forward to buying and trying out some of your equipment, but since I drill my own equipment and do not support my local (so called)"pro"shop and his arrogant attitude and $270 ball prices, I guess I won't be able to try your equipment unless maybe someone will put them on ebay.

I'm in the same boat.  There are guys on here selling them, but the price is a little more than I can justify spending at this time (considering I have 9 used balls and 15 NIB sitting around waiting to drill).
