Warhawk Help
« on: January 25, 2004, 09:22:25 AM »
Ok I dug out the old Warhawk and had the span refitted for me. My proshop said it should hook less than my Duece( drilled Pin half inch right cg under ring)
The warhawk hooks 15 boards more than my Duece on fresh h/s and ten boards on heavier oil with carry. Could cover prep tame it down? 800 w/shine. This ball never hooked this much when it was new. oh warhawk drilled similar. I have added revs to my game but good lord this ball took such a left turn it left a skid mark. (i know exagerated But not much). Ball flared over eight inches. So a little help if you please.

well lets see here...  the Warhawk from Champion is listed on BBR.com as a heavy oil ball and the Deuce is listed as a Medium oil ball (Storms website has the ball on the heavy oil graph though)  The Warhawk is a high RG, medium Diff ball while the deuce is a low RG, high Diff  ball.
I think it would be happier on more oil than just a THS, but I'd suggest taking it to 1000 and then 1200 if 1000 doesn't tame it.  It should take longer before it leaves that skid mark...

but what do I know?

Once I figure out how to get this ball to throw itself, I'll be all set...

yes but does heavy oil ten years ago still hold true today. I was going off what I was told by my proshop guy. Just wanted to tame it down. My duece covers heavy just fine, just thought it might fit in as a medium oil ball. Thanks J Mac.

If cover adjustments don't cut it either redrill it or see about putting an extra hole on your PAP, but I'm sure you knew that.
