I live in Michigan so I want to support a local company.I was disappointed when Brunswick moved
production to Mexico, I used Brunswick and still buy one now and then.When Tech Line decided
to start producing bowling balls I was happy to have a Michigan company making bowling equipment again.When I decided to try their bowling balls I was pleased with the results but, hoped they would
make balls for heavy oil and it looks like the TR2 is that ball.So what do you think that MOTIV can do next
with their bowling balls to keep you as a customer or to get you to use their equipment?

I would like to see a ball with a asymmetrical core and more balls that are multi color.I know that
they are going to make a couple of mid price balls.

I have not tried them as of yet, but only due to reason that have nothing to due with the company.

I see them in my local house, and people love them.
I do however see them getting plugged and re drilled often.
I don't know if its a change in ownership or trying different drills on them.

I too was drawn to the fact that they are made exclusively here in the states, and now a days that is saying something.

I believe they are a top notch company w/ great durable products

I would love to see them blow up and do extremely well

although I have never used them I would in a second, and I KNOW their covers are durable and will last a very long time.

many people who's opinion I value, that have used motiv, have nothing but kind things to say about their balls

I have seen them thrown they look good but, like most people I think are scared to try a new company and get a dud. I think they need to get a ball that puts them on the map. I have been throwing roto grip for years before the were on PBA. What put them on the map was the cell line, which was a good line but to me they have had many good balls.

well first and foremost they have to survive. thats not a knock in anyway just the truth with the economy like it is no company is safe if they arent selling. i think once they get a couple years under their belts and sales improve they will break loose. ive got a friend at my local house that swears by them. from what ive seen they are pretty smooth at the breakpoint. but we all know what sells these days, so they might want to make that super hooker lol. or a skid snap piece, i think they alreasy have the snappy piece come to think of it but i havent seen that one in action. if i werent such a storm head i would consider them. anybody know if they are pba product registered and do they plan to field a pro staff?

i have never personally used them but the 5 reviews ive heard are not good from what i heard the black one (idk the name it came out with the blue one) makes a terrific spare ball. and the blue and the black one do not move on the sport patterns i seen them thrown on at school.

I think they need a better local presence. Since they aren't marketed on the PBA until september and don't have any major staffers I think the key is getting the word out locally.

In all the major cities there's always one or more houses that host most of the tournaments. This includes local handicap tournaments and sport shot tournaments. They should target those houses and get marketing material out there, maybe do a demo day, and just get the local what I'll call "pro" or widely known bowlers involved.

I personally think they are a great company and just need some exposure. I've spoken to Scott Hewitt from Motiv and he's been a great contact and very helpful. I have a review profile of the GT1 in my profile, an absolute must have go to ball!

Don't believ everything you read, especially here.

The black one, the SX-1, has an incredible backend on medium oil for me, so much so, I had to redrill it milder than the stock 4x4 to about 5x4, with a higher pin. Now it's my benchmark. Sure, you can use it as a spare ball if you have 3 revs or throw it 25 mph.

I also used it on the Shark pattern. Maybe your local guys need some help on the sport patterns? I don't know. My SX-1 worked fine on the Shark and the Scorpion.

If the SX-1 doesn't already fit the mold, I'd like to see a weak ball, kind of like a Power Groove is supposed to be. I agree Motiv just needs exposure though.

I am tempted because my pro shop here in Germany is going to have Motiv balls in store. But I find it hard to compare them with other manufacturers (And even among each other), in order to judge if a ball can fill an arsenal gap or not. A kind of reaction/condition chart for the OOB pieces would be nice. Not that it would actually tell something, just for a relative reference of the balls' utilities.

Besides, I agree that at least one weak(er) ball is missing, e. g. a mild reactive (with a high RG core) or even a urethane piece. A strong high RG/high RG diff. ball would also be anoption as an arsenal addition?

MOTIV is going to have mid to entry level equipment,with milder cores and covers.
So keep an eye out for them in the future.

Can you give us a time frame Angela?

IMO....the only thing that Motiv lacks now is a dry lane ball. SX-1 is not it. Too low of an Rg rolls too early to be used as a pure dry lane ball.

Seems like the SX1 is a good med-light to medium oil ball depending on your style. Kind of like an Avalanche Solid which I have. Can't wait to see what else Motiv has in store.
