I have been trying without success to find a 15# NIB Track Havoc with a 2 to 2 1/2 inch pin and 2-3 oz. top weight. Does Legends have a ball that "might" come close to matching the Havoc and it's superior performance? I've had to park my Havoc since I have gone back to 15# balls. It was always the first ball out of my bag.

i've never seen a havoc in action.. however i know (at least i think i know)a lot about the legends balls.. how did your havoc react that made you really love it? i.e. were you able to throw it on almost anything? what condition was it for? where was the breakpoint? was it sharp?

Phlap, I could throw the Havoc on almost anything from light oil to medium and medium plus. I haven't seen any heavy oil where I bowl for quite some time. Track said it is for light to medium oil, but in box condition, most people including myself found that it worked best on oil heavier than medium. When I first got it, it didn't matter how perfect I hit the pocket, it hit like a bag of mashed potatoes and having mostly 8 and 9 pin hits and few strikes. After talking to tenpinspro and EXCALIBER, I sanded it with a 500 grit Abralon Pad with the sanding lines running parallel with the track and then polished it with two coats of 3M Finesse It II and voila, the ball became a monster carrying light hits, heavy hits, just right hits, and etc.

The ball gets good length and has a very strong angular break point and never rolls out. It has a 1 3/4" Pin with the Pin 4" from PAP and under RF. The MB is 4 1/4" from the PAP. Weight hole 1" under the PAP on a line from center of grip thru the PAP.

Bar, I had already checked there and all they have in 15# with a 2-3 inch pin is one with 4 3/4 oz. top weight. Thanks anyhow for trying to help.

The Satisfaxion and the Absolute Power would possibly meet your needs, but due to the drilling and the special surface prep you did to your Havoc PLUS its mild mass bias, I am not sure what you'd need to do to either ball to get the same reaction. Those two Lanemaster balls use the same cover but different cores; so the drilling would vary somewhat.

I suspect the AP would work as it's a very strong medium ball, in its ability to handle surprising amounts of oil. Probably a pin at 4" from PAP with a highish pin positionabove the midline- say "3.5". After that point, experimentation would show what you need.

However, my suggestion is to get another Havoc, due to some glitches we have talked about privately in what seems to work for you and what doesn't.

Thanks Charlest. Since my 14# Havoc worked so well, I really prefer a Havoc, but also would like to try a Legends ball and thought that this would be a good chance if a Havoc of the specs I want is not available. Gobs of Legends balls being thrown around here. Mostly the "New Standard" and the "Yeah Baby" with the "Yeah Baby" probably being a bit more popular than the "New Standard".

Watching other people throw these balls, I like the looks of how the "Yeah Baby" works better than how the "New Standard" looks. The lefties really love the "Yeah Baby." I suspect that one reason these balls have become so popular is not only their performance, but also that Anne Marie Duggan is on the Legends pro staff, so naturally I'm sure she pushes this line to everyone that comes in.

suprisingly I find a lightly polished Big Kahuna to cover a lot of conditions.

this is a ideal example of what an under rated ball is all about. The ball has a ton of pop at the pin deck and no one know about it. I like more than my AP.

No I didn't switch. Still use the same driller. However tenpinspro and EXCALIBER have drilled the last two balls for me. They do a better job of laying out the ball to fit my style, than she does.

Harry, you would need to talk to them. Also you would have to know your specs so that you could send the specs to them. You should be able to get them from your driller.

The bottom line for me is that the ball is layed out right for my style as well as drilled right, which they do.

You wanted my opinion and mine is that the AP is closer to the Havoc.

The New Standard and the Yeah Baby! are significantly stronger than the Havoc. Even you might need a weak drill on a New Standard and possibly some polish to simulate a Havoc. Even then the balls are so disparate, that I cannot, in truth, recommend the NS to replace a Havoc. The Yeah Baby is a flippier and stronger version of the NS; in my opinion, it needs even more oil. It is a great ball, but very strong.
