I think its awesome, Regional patterns are not that tough.  I think he would get pounded at a mega buck Eliminator, or Hoinke style tournament. Thats where I would head next if I were him, keep that am status.

How many regional have you cashed in?? Just curious after your statement that they are not very hard. Regional patterns are not that easy..

What I mean is regional patterns are generally not flat oil. Mega bucks and eliminator generally are flat oil. I cashed in the 1994 Budwieser PBA Open at Gus Lampo's Holiday Lanes in Oneonta ,NY. Whatever that has to do with anything??

Actually you're dead wrong....but thanks for showing us who we should not listen to on the threads.

The Megabucks patterns are FAR from flat.  They are usually 3:1 ratios or so with plenty of taper, and not very tough.  The mini eliminator usually takes about 670+ to make a cut and the TAT takes 700+.

I've bowled both and the regional patterns are tougher....

When I went to L V it was flat. When I last bowled in a regional it was not flat. End of story.

The kid has a pretty good release.  It''s better than 75% of the league bowlers around here(it could be higher).  And he has good genes too if what one of the posters stated is true his dad is his orthodontist.

Russell, you didnt bowl in every regional and every mega buck. You dont know what conditions are like all over the country, lol. I am making a generalization of my experiences, and all the other top bowlers in my area agree. please dont tell me I am wrong.

Juniors can bowl in PBA events with the SMART program so they lose no eligibility.
