12th frame and the points list
« on: January 17, 2005, 07:03:35 AM »
How's everyone's teams doing?

Check out the pba points list:
http://www.pba.com/ytdstats.asp?Tour=&Stype=Points

I've got 4 of my guys in the top 10 of the points list.

What do you mean you have 4 of the top 10 guys on your team?? I don't know what league your in but with 12th frame fantasy bowling you only have 500,000 to spend on 5 guys. Any combination of the guys in the top 10 are too expensive to be on a team.

Parker and Hurd are the only ones on that list that are fairly affordable but he said he had 4 guys in the top 10, that's impossible with 12th frame bowling.

Oh gee no kidding, I know that!!! No combination of 4 guys in the top 10 points list is possible!! They are all too expensive!!! besides they only drop 10,000 to 15,000 in price we are not talking about a drastic drop in price.

That comes out to 507,000 with 4 guys when you have to have 5 based on last week's salaries. Try again.

Of the current top 10, I believe only Barnes, Williams and Allen had a starting value of more than 100,000 so theoretically you could actually have all 5 of your guys in the top 10 if you picked well at the start of the season. Heck you could have purchased Bohn for 50,000 just four tournaments ago and Wisemans starting value before the season was only 80,000.

That's if you had the same team all season it's possible, but why would anyone keep the same guys every week it makes no sense.

You pick a new team every week? If I did that, I would be losing a bunch of equity built up during the season. I rotate one of the low end guys most weeks but my top four I've kept since about week 3. Purchase value is only 500,000 but actual value is a lot higher.

I seem to be doing OK with this strategy so far and I will stick with it through the end of the season. How are you doing with yours?

I change most of my guys around each week. The same guys don't all bowl the same way on the different patterns so I don't see how you can keep the same team all year.

Duke
Voss
WRW
Bohn III
CJ
is my team.
I picked up Duke and Voss right at the start, before the first tournament. They were cheap. As CJ's price kept going down, I kept resigning him at the lower price. I picked up Parker when he was at $75K... After I did this a few times, I had enough to pick up WRW.

It wasn't really difficult. I just got lucky!!!

Info    Walter Ray Williams Jr.    $155,000.00 $165,000.00
Info    Norm Duke Drop  $100,000.00 $170,000.00
Info    Brian Voss Drop  $110,000.00 $175,000.00
Info    Chris Johnson Drop  $50,000.00 $50,000.00
Info    Parker Bohn III Drop  $75,000.00 $114,000.00

First number is purchase price - second is current value. So, my team is currently worth $674,000...

And when CJ gets it together, like he will this week, the value will skyrocket.

Nice Job Mumzie. Maybe I should have stuck with a couple of guys and held onto to them from the Beginning. I have changed my team around from week to week. You have Voss, Williams, Duke and Bohn? that's some team. Maybe CJ will come around he's been struggling lately. Good Luck the rest of the way.
