Bowler to Fear in 2008?
« on: July 17, 2008, 01:17:37 AM »
Who's going to own in 2008?

I think Chris Barnes will overcome some of his television woes, and win 2-3 titles.  Rhino Page will have another solid season, but nothing mind-blowing.  2 titles tops.  Pete Weber will bounce back with a title.  PBIII and WRW will each win a title. I secretly hope PBIII wins a ton now that he broke his 61 event losing streak.

But I think Norm Duke is going to absolutely own this year.  He finished last season like a ball of fire, and he's healthy now.  I hope he owns the world.

Wes, TJ, Rash, and Rhino are all solid picks.  I hope we also see some of Tony Reyes and Doug Kent.  PB3 and Couch will also be there.  Duke, Barnes, and WRW JR are givens but I hope to see some of the youth shine.  I guess after all that I could have just listed the entire exempt roster.

my guy is def the big nasty, but im thinking PDW is gonna have a big year...he has got some serious game and i think he can pull himself together...

also watch out for the two 2 handers in the PTQ's valenta and belmonte both have the pba cards, so they could make some noise if they can get through the qualifiers...my opinion

Jason Sterner....I've bowled with him for a while now and I think he will surprise some folks.  He is a high revrate guy but really likes to play straight angles.  I think he's got the right mix of ballroll and mentality to be tough out there.

I think Walter Ray is gonna have another crazy year.

The man is a machine.

I wasn't always a fan of his, but he's won me over.

His game is defying his age--in fact, he seems to be better than ever, and the scary thing is, he’s appears to be still improving.

He just won 2 individual Gold Medals at the World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand (Singles and Masters) with an extremely tough international pool of exceptional keglers (some of which were his team-mates) as his adversaries.

The PBA is comprised of incredibly talented players.

Having said that, I feel Walter Ray is gonna be the one to beat.

In fact, I think that out of all the great current PBA stars, if there is one player that is feared by his peers, it is none other than Mr. Walter Ray Williams Jr. — just ask Pete Weber.

They call the man Norm.....he'll be starting the season healthy and ready to go.

Mr Duke will claim POY honors again.

I have a strange feeling that Jeff Carter is going to come out with guns blazing. Storm has released some equipment that will be very dangerous in his hands. Also, im going to have to agree with Mcdaniel, watch out for those two handers especially Valenta. That guy can straight up play!

I agree with jmiller88...Carter is going to be primed and ready to win this year after last years injury....and Valenta is freaking awesome!!! He's got a good attitude about the game and he's getting more and more experience! and he's fun to watch!
