He just shot 1769 for 7 games on the Scorpion pattern, usually considered Wes Malott's own. That's a 252 average, including one 300! He's now in 4th place.

Tommy Jones is also on a roll, shooting 1698 for the 7 games, avg: 242 for the 7.

Good ole Scroggy also shot 1700 for the 7 on Scorpion putting him in 6th, just ahead of WRW.

Malott's still in 1st and Barnes in 3rd.

This is some serious good bowling !!

It would be great to see PDW have a good day tomorrow, if for no other reason but to keep Scroggy from winning POTY honors. Not hating on Scroggy, just think /hope WRW jr. gets the hardware, amazing at age 50!

notice he threw a 300 on his fathers oil pattern also....

he seems to make the show every yr of that oil pattern but never has the pin fall on tv.

PDW all the way... Nothing against Scroggy or Barnes.

Geez - not to mention the PBA actually encouraged a little more showmanship from the bowlers - "enjoyed" the expression on WRWJ's face when he got the news - this back when the "new owners" took over the PBA.

stormbowler,

You keep proving you're an idiot over and over. Ernie Schlegel was the first pro to wear sunglasses on TV. He said he did it to cut down the glare but using your logic he must have been high on cocaine every time he was on TV.

Pete actually first used them for an outdoor tourney---like the way the lights looked with them on and has kept them since

Obviously a armchair spectator. Your comments deffinatly put you in the 175 average category

I cant stand pdw because he thinks hes RVD & gives crotch chops.  As if bowling isnt made fun enough by people that dont bowl, lets add that 1 of the top bowlers thinks hes a pro wrestler.

Sorry, but no amount of talent makes up for his pure lameness.

Nice closeup of PDW in the 10th frame of the title match with his shades removed - the eyes were nice and clear - no bloodshot - if PDW were here he'd crotch chop you big time!! Having an opinion doesn't make you an idiot but spouting unsubstantiated crap outs you as a clueless A-hole for sure.

I'm officially off your back as of now. I'm more of a WRW fan than PDW but there is no denying the man's talent. Arguably one of the greatest releases of all time and when he's on and his head is right he is unstoppable. He has overcome a lot of issues - age and maturity will do that for you IF you survive your immature period! Must have been tough following in DW's footsteps and going out on Tour in your teens has just got to be one of the worst influences possible. PARTY! PARTY! PARTY! Anyway - he survived - and he's still tough. Congrats to WRW for a well deserved 7th POW. Scroggy also had a great year.

I am not surprised that Pete receives so much negative attention but I don't understand why somebody would be so hateful (stormbowler). He obviously loves attention but grow up. Everyone is entitles to their opinion but what does your accomplish?

I go to school near his home town and he is always in and out of the bowling alley I practice at. Everyone looks up to him and he has not let his fame get to his head like others with a 1/100 of his credentials.

I am also friends with his brother Rich and I don't think anyone understands how much this means to Pete to win again on tour.

Everyone has skeletons in there closet and just because you are not in the public eye doesn't make you any better than anyone else. There are a lot of things that I have done that I'm not proud of and I am sure most of you feel the same.

+1, but I guess if you're in the public eye, you aren't allowed the same leeway as those of us who aren't...

A. CONGRATS to Pete
B. In the big scheme of things...WHO really cares how someone else, that has no overall effect on them, leads there life. What he chooses to do with his life, as well as ability is his choice.
C. He wears the sunglasses to get by his nerves on TV.

While I think it would have been cool for Scroggy to win and to get POY (that's MY opinion and I'm sticking with it), I had no idea it had been that long since Pete Weber won (2007). PLus it was 9 appearances in the TV shows, including 2 in the title match, in which he had lost prior to today's win.

I knew it was a long time and I had a feeling it was nerves. I'm kind of glad he got that monkey off his back (not winning). He executed very well in the final match, almost flawlessly. As I've said before, I'm not a PDW fan, but what's fair is fair. He earned it this week ... the hard way.

Congrats, PDW!
(never thought I'd be saying that)
