Does anyone think the new format for next year really that great.  Granted it will make an elite field.  However, what if certain bowlers such as TOMMY JONES, PARKER BOHN, MIKE ALBY, and others dont make it.  Then what?  I think they should keep the format but make it more like the PGA, have a tour school so that you can earn you tour card. Change the memebership qualifications and such.  But whats your ideas?

the present will suffer a little but the future is in the direction they are going.

money is going up. you can get exemption from regionals.

it's like the majors and farm team setup.maybe college scouting down the line.

min salary.. 32k for an exempt player. not astounding but not bad for coming last for every tournament. I would rather earn 32 k bowling than working at the qwiky mart.

Now they need sponsors other than ball companies. kind of like racing.
team fritos, team pepsi etc..

lot's of potential. the old business was not going anywhere. and stagnation = extinction. they need to entice future athletes to go into bowling instead of golf or tennis.

do not forget who owns the PBA. ex Microsoft people. make no mistake about it, Bill gates may be a mediocre programmer but he is the king of the business world and a few of his desciples are on the loose.

TJ and PBIII will both be there, Aulby has announced his retirement.  Hoskins may or may not make it.  If he doesn't, he'll probably go into politics (I hear he's very well connected with the Florida Republican machine) or business.  Either way, I don't think you have to worry about him.

The old guys who don't make it will probably retire, while the young guys will have to either battle it out at the regional level, or find a different way of making a living.

Omega, just out of curiosity, what makes you think Bill Gates was a mediocre programmer?  I don't know how old you are, but do you think you could have written BASIC for the Altair?

To Omegabowler, the truth is that regional purses have actually declined after you take into account what they are charging for lineages.  Also being out there at times I have also seen the idea tossed around that only 3000 will be given for first at regional accross the board.  Sounds like the someone else is making some money off the regional players.

Second is that ball manufactuers are very heistante to even give endorsement deals and even so its not much.  They might give you enough for equipment but only maybe I think six have better deals. Many of the bowlers have sponsers through independent none bowling affiliates.

Finally I think overall I dont like the new looks that they are trying to go for.  Many bowlers have turned into the more mouth then sportsmanship that I once remebered.  I know that actions fuels ratings but when Ryan Shaffer and other start acting like they are thugs on the lanes then something is seriously wrong.  Even PDW was commenting that after he went through his phase he is kinda of appalled that they are acting this way now.

Just a few points I would like to toss out there
