At one point I heard him say something about someone rooting against him and that he was 'really classy' or something along those lines.  I think he just makes stuff up to get himself fired up.

First of all ,this is professional bowling not a bunch of league bowlers yelling, burping and passing gas like happens in the league I bowl in. Except for a few easy to forget years this TV sport has been about being fairly quiet and no distractions. They are bowling for more money than most of us will have have a chance at and I think a little respect to what is going on is not a big sacrifice for those in attendance. Who in the hell goes to a PBA event and thinks moving around, spouting off or just being a general distraction is ok unless they are a moron? PDW is not some new breed of PBA as one poster said. Bowlers with fire on the approach have been around forever. Marshall Holman, Gary Skidmore (they almost came to blows once on TV) Carmen Salvino etc. I wish the new guys were less the robots they seem to be and showed more unrehearsed passion. This is not professional baseball, football or basketball where fans think the money they paid for a ticket is a license to be dicks. This sport has always been one of respect and any of you that think different have got it all wrong. PDW wears the sunglasses and does the crotch chop because the PBA wants him to be a sort of badboy. He pretty much said that in the PBA movie a few years back. I got the opportunity to meet him briefly at a tournament years ago and he was more than gracious and accomodating. The person who more than once caused a distraction should have been moved to another location. Pete was not yelling at kids! I realize we all have different perspectives on what kind of behavior is acceptable for league bowling but for crying out loud this is not league bowling!!!

Not to spread rumor, but on  the forum someone who claims to have been there said the guys was making  all kinds of remarks to Pete...ie when he missed the 10, "your old man  would have made it" 

As a Weber fan, I do think with his older age even last 10 years  has gotten more cranky on shows then way in the past with fans and camera man.

I found it hysterical that Pederson was concerned that Weber would lose a fan while this is the same guy in 2005 at the TOC going off on a fan on a last shot.

 

With that said and is never mentioned....why the hell does the PBA have side seating? I've sat on shows on that view and old match play arena formats in the early 00's and it seems cool at first with the angle but it gets you as a fan after so many balls a very big headache and isn't too hard for someone to feel uncomfortable. I know, it can kill your neck and head. I wrote to the PBA to get rid of this stupid side seating and don't care. On the other hand they could have side seating and the crowd is aloud to make noises all the time like they tried in the late 90's but then fans complained about that. I say go back to the mid 90's and less and have wide back seating with an open looking bowling alley and wouldn't have this problem. I'm so sick of seeing a pro bowler on the show that has enough pressure already having to have an additional distraction that besides the early 00's only happens if you make a show. A bowling alley shouldn't be designed by any nature to have stands on the actual surface of the bowling alley approach much less the lanes. Go old school like it needs to be and wouldn't have to have these type of incidents.

 

 

 

I always thought the side seating was pretty idiotic. As a spectator, I would never want to sit there because the angle sucks. As a TV viewer, I know that it's always just a disaster waiting to happen in terms of bowler distractions. This is especially true if you have kids seated on the sides. KIDS? C'mon man, everyone knows that kids can't sit still. 

 

ESPN / production did not move the fan b/c it did add drama - just like the hype over Rash and the water bottle.
