The outside got drier and gave Lonnie more apparent room outside, because they all practiced before hand, Duke and WRW played only the outside. But for Lonnie's slower speed, it could easily overreact, which is why I think he went with the Ebonite ball (Was that an older Stinger; it looked 99% black and Ebonite doesn't have many of those.)
I think the reason for the 10th frame washout (as I mentioned in another thread) was he was using a milder solid and was tryign to play the oil line so the ball wouldn't over-react. Th eRaging Inferno got too strong as the line dried up.
If anyone noticed, WRW started leaving 10 pins, which were almost his downfall when he started playing the 5 board with a slight swing shot, instead of sticking to his hard-up-the-7-board shot. He went back to that at the end in 6th or 8th frame and started striking again.
