Your favourite PBA moment
« on: November 22, 2005, 11:24:15 AM »
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, so my appologies if it has...

What's your favourite PBA moment on TV?

For me it's a tie between Norm Duke's 300 and Bob Learn's performance at the 96 Flagship open.

Also on a side note, what's your favourite Catchphrase? (either from an announcer or from a player?)

I really liked Angelo's comeback to Couch's "Those Ebonite balls hit too hard...They're too good" with "But Brunswick get all 10". I thought that was a smart comeback.

As for a favorite moment, Bob Learn's win at the Flagship definately rings a bell. That was plain out awesome watching him.

MY favorite PBA moment had to be Pete Weber's US Open eagle trophy that broke as he lifted it above his head.  The expression on his face as it smashed to the ground was priceless.

Fruit salad, baby!  It's so stupid, I'm surprised Dave Ryan doesn't say it.

In recent memory, one of my favorite moments was on TV this week.  In PDW's match against Michael Haugen, Jr. he says "He's not gonna get his first one from me" after Haugen shoots 279 at him, and Pete follows it with 289.

"I AM THE GREATEST", Schlegel's TPC win against Pedersen is the only show from ESPN Classic that I have kept in the DVR.  Best match I've seen in over 40 years of watching the tour on TV.

My favorite moment on TV was Don Johnson and the 10 pin that stood for his infamous 299 game. Him down on his knees, with his face in the approach. What emotion!!!

favorite sayings? Can't remember anything specific from Chris Schenkel - and have been watching with the sound off since.

-I like your choises. Norm Duke 300, Bob Learn in Erie, Pete Weber's US Open eagle trophy. I'll add Brian Boghosian winning Masters, we've known each other a long time and that was spectacular.

I could think of a few hehe...

Sometime in the early 90's Bent Elbow Power Player Bob Vespi leaves a "Wrap 10," turns to the crowd and says, "Who the hell is clapping?"

McCune a few years ago misses a single pin spare "breaks his spare made streak" and says "Thanks Randy."

In the 2nd show this season Mika Koivuniemi screams "hold hold hold," and goes high. The Genius Dave Ryan says, "Mike urging his ball in Finnish." and then Randy comes back with "Dave I understood what he was saying, he was saying -Hold-" and Dave Ryan just laughs...Thanks alot Genius...

I'll think of more later.

LOL,

I realised I didn't put my favourite cashphrase...

I liked Mike Durbin's "Perfect". mostly for the way he said it..

To ad another, I also loved the Eugene Mcunne's (sp?) "IT"S MY WEEK" telecast..

The title said "moment", singular.  Dave has said that at least 679 times.

I agree with Pete Weber dropping the eagle off the trophy moment...priceless.
 And,Del Ballard's gutterball..the look on his face.
Johnny Petraglia's 300 on TV was another moment in time we'll never forget.
I think that the Machuga flop is going to be remembered in the future as an unforgettable moment..........
Brian Voss yelling the F-bomb after he won a tournament on the last ball, I don't remember the year, but after he said it,he realised he was still on mike and turned beet red.
