Finals for tomorrow are:

1 Cara Honeychurch
2 Dede Davidson
3 Carolyn Dorin-Ballard
4 Tish Johnson
5 Wendy Macpherson

So some faces we haven't seen on TV for awhile.  Aren't three of them lefties?

I just find it difficlut to believe it was a sport condition. Heavy oil, Yes.
The reason is that during the Dorin-Ballard vs Johnson match, I saw Dorin-Ballard hit the 4 board, 5 board, 6 board and go accross the 7 board during the first 4 frames and all these ball struck on the right side of the head pin. No "sport"  has that much room for error, no matter who you are, no matter what ball you are throwing, no matter what release you are using. I remain disappointed.

BUT very glad Dede Davidson won, I have never seen her throw the ball that well not with that much confidence. The last maych she left 2 more stoned 9 pins and an 8 pin. The match should not have bene as close as it was.

Which Silver Streak was Dede throwing??

Actually charlest, I thought of it more as a weird hang spot.  Nothing Carolyn did seemed to make the ball hook through it.

Am I crazy, or is Wendy incapable of changing hand positions?  The ball was clearly going too long, then snapping too hard on the back, but she continued to come around the side of it, rather than coming more up the back.  I'll give Wendy credit, though.  For someone with what seems to be a very limited game, she sure has a bunch of titles.  About 20 more than I have!

I couldn't tell which Silver Streak Dede was using.  The solid is black, and the particle is blue?

Hey Dede, maybe 16# balls don't deflect enough.  Whaddya think?

Every sport compliant pattern I have seen has had room...especially if you have fresh back ends.  I would have liked to see the graph because quite frankly, 24ml on a 42 foot pattern isn't a ton of oil...even taking the fact that it was a synthetic surface, it simply isn't a lot of oil.  Watching the reaction on the back end has much to do with a valid explanation of area up front on the show today...

The problem I have seen with a lot of houses that ran sport leagues is that in the beginning, it almost seemed like they went overboard putting out the hardest, least playable patterns possible.  Just because something is 2:1 doesn't mean no room or no scoring!

Lol, I know I've complained about carry before, but I can't quite say I've had a game with that terrible of carry.  It's not like she was leaving 7's or something, those are halfway explainable.  It shouldn't have even been a factor, and even though I like Cara, she wouldn't have deserved to win.  It would have just been luck, and I don't think I'd like to win something knowing that it was just luck.  Dede bowled INCREDIBLY.  Lol, seadrive, yeah.  That ball was CRUSHING the pocket.  It set up and frickin drove.  Man.  That, and the 7-10 Carolyn left, not to mention the other shots that nearly resulted in a 7-10, brings up a question of carry again.  That's my biggest bone to pick, when you make good shots and leave all sorts of junk that the fluffers somehow get to carry, it's maddening.  How do you change anything when you're not carrying?

I'll say it again.  I don't know how CDB does it.  Throw it out to 3/4 with her limited hand, crumble the left side for a strike.  Pull the ball over near 10, hit very high and trip the 4.  If that's a sport shot, she must have paid a mighty sacrifice to Humbaba.  She had it all working her first game.  If the lefties pulled a ball, it was through the nose.  Tish got some good breaks herself, but the ball did go high.  CDB can throw the ball anywhere and only have to worry about the 10 (or 7-10, he he).

At least Dede was able to laugh off the 8 and 9 pins and scrape out a victory.  If I had to guess, it was the Silver Streak Particle she was throwing.

When are the women going to learn how to make a corner pin when it counts?

Not the way Carolyn was spraying the ball. ANd I only gauged the spot at the arrows. On my Summer ABC Sport sanctioned legaue, I don;t have 1 board left and right at 40 feet down the lane. But then this shot is hard.

At Knoxville we had 26+ ml, it was spread out to 39 feet, and it was a medium -dry pattern. What was reported could have been wrong. Everyone did seem to have a really nice dow-and-in shot using fairly strong balls.

Of course not, excepting watching this one did make me wonder a lot. I did expect a lot less area than they *appeared* to have. DeDe and Carolyn both appeared to take advantage of it; Tish accidentally did so. Wendy did not (too much loft and too much speed ???).

CDB was throwing an Obsession and Cara was using a dulled down V2 solid.

I'll take you guys word for it that CDB was throwing an Obsession, but I could have sworn I saw her using what looked like a dull Savage.

Did I hear them say that Carolyn sanded her stuff down to 320?  Yikes, those words must have sent a chill down the spine of any proprietor watching the show.
