Favorite Radical Release so far (Your vote)
« on: January 03, 2014, 12:03:38 AM »
Its a tough choice for me.  Reax V2 has been solid for me this first half of league season with the longer house pattern.  The Torrid Affair was just so well balanced and strong something you do not see at that price range.  It handled everything. And the Yeti Untamed's response in the backend is amazing.

I'm going to have to say Torrid Affair.  With the Grease Monkey and Reax V2 pearl coming out we'll see if it can move its way up.

Whats been your favorite so far?

I have the Original Reax, and while I like it, it's my teammate's Torrid Affair that I drilled for him that looks quite amazing in his hands.

I have the original REAX, and the REAX Pearl.  I also have a Yeti Untamed.  My favs so far are the original REAX and the Yeti Untamed.  I am getting the V2 Pearl hoping for more angularity on the backend.  I like that the Yeti Untamed is a symmetrical core.  Really strong ball motion down-lane with a good clean look through the fronts, which is something I haven't seen much through the REAX line.  The one thing I have noticed with all my REAX stuff is how even it is across the lane.  Even in layouts designed to push the length further down-lane and make it corner harder, it still retains a very smooth shape.  These have probably made the REAX line one of my most used on flatter patterns.  And like I said, the Yeti Untamed has given me the angularity on the back of the pattern so I feel like I have a great complimenting arsenal now.

Original Reax!! Hasn't left my bag since it came out. But, from what I see, the bowlers using several of the Radical balls in our leagues all have a great look. Reax V2, Yeti Untamed, Torrid Affair and Reax Pearl. All are great balls!!

How much oil do you see in your house shot? Or how much ball speed do you have????????
(to be able to use such a strong ball)

Original ReaX,

This is 500/1500 Siaair out of the box. I hit it with a 1500-grit NEAT pad every 12 games or so and it continues to be the best carrying ball in my current bag. It's drilled 35 x 4 1/4" x 30 (pin in ring finger) (4 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 1 7/8" pin buffer). Similar reaction to my old Hammer Violet 3D Offset. I also have a Yeti but don't have enough games on it to comment yet. Andyman3333: I agree with your take on the ReaX. I also have several of the older Radicals from their 900 Global-chapter. I've rolled a 300 with the Torrid and get a good look with it on other than wet-dry. My Slant and Slant Hybrid also produced good scores. The Slant Hybrid in particular works well on fresh back ends and/or shorter patterns as it doesn't over-read the dry and maintains a good continuous shot shape through the pocket.

The original Reax is my favorite.   It's an absolutely versatile ball and I love the lower RG and how much you can do with it with surface and layouts.  Plus something about an all black ball makes it so easy to read.
