Radical Grease Monkey Reaction Video
« on: January 23, 2014, 06:12:09 PM »
We did something a little different this time around, and added in another bowler, so this video features 2 testers. Our usual tester Jason used a 60x5x70 drilling, and Dan used the same but with a P3 hole. Dan is a little slower speed, and lower rev rate than Jason, and we hope that this style might appeal to more bowlers.

Seems like the way every Radical reacted for me, roll roll and more roll.

Thank you, I really appreciated the second bowler. It would seem to me that his style (and mine) are the main target (beneficiary?) for the EZ Use line and it looked great.  Would really like to see a comparison between the GM and the Torrid Affair.

Mine should be delivered Saturday, looks like it will give me another great THS option on league night.

Holy deflection, Batman! The ball looked great for Dan though. Was this a result of the weight hole? Why did the ball have no drive for Jason?

mainly speed. this house shot is a little longer than most (43'), so it may appear that the back end isn't as crisp as some shorter "house shots" which are generally 38-40'.

also, i think i mention this last release. the alley changed the shot slightly since the start of the season. we try to keep it the same if possible, but sometimes its out of our control. they have been playing tighter the last few months

The addition of another bowler does not concern me as much as the deletion of the comparison of a similar ball in the current line. It would be hard for me to compare the GM to the other Torrids without the overlay showing the 2 ball paths.

we did throw the torrid affair a few times. give me a few days and ill edit it.

I think it's important to remember that we don't "want" every ball to be "perfect" in the videos-- here's why.

When we go bowling, what are we trying to accomplish? The correct ball reaction which matches the pattern and the surface on which we are competing. If we want to buy a new ball, isn't it better to see a reaction video where a ball might not look like a "perfect 10"?

In other words, watching Jason throw the GM and struggle actually gives me more info rather than him tossing it and everything reacting perfectly. Some layouts don't match up with the bowler and lane condition/surface. However, knock the drill angles down some (let's say 50x4x45) and I betcha the ball looks better than bowler number 2 does in the video.

Does the gm look greatnow? Depends on what you mean by "great". Can't wait to see some comparison shots-- at that point we can get a real read.

Please note-- my comments aren't meant to be harsh or demeaning; rather, I think we have become so accustomed to a ball rolling "perfectly" in a reaction video (after all, isn't that the intent of a marketing video?) that we forget that sometimes, equipment doesn't match up.

I'd rather see Jason struggle with a ball and save myself $150, or spend the money and already have a more rounded idea of what a ball can't and can do.......

I have to say, we try really hard to keep our lane conditions as similar as possible in our vids for comparison purposes.  However at times these conditions may not always make certain balls look amazing because the condition is simply not what they were designed to be amazing on.  With all our drier lane pieces and entry level balls we try to do a video ( which will be coming ) with the balls being thrown on a more broken down shot. Thanks for all the comments guys.  We are always trying to improve and welcome the comments good and bad. It's the only way to improve and give you guys what you want to see, a showcase and comparison of some great equipment.

Please don't take my comment as criticism of you videos. I love your videos, and understand why the ball was deflecting so much now

Oh we wouldn't take anything the wrong way.  It's all good. We appreciate the support very much!  Like I said all these balls are amazing on the patterns there made for.  Last thing we want is to make a ball look bad.  Stay tuned and thanks again.
