I think Radical hit a home run with the Untamed. Ball has great shelf appeal and looks great on the lanes.

not gonna lie, between this and the Reax2, it was the easiest, quickest video shoot we have done. its was fast, and both balls couldn't miss. predictable, hard hitting, excellent carry.

both new balls are going to be talked about a lot

Jason,
I think you do great videos, but I have a concern with this one. Go back and look at the comparison with the original Yeti. Maybe because this was a House Shot, the difference was muted, but there is not that much difference between the two. I obviously can't see if you moved your feet at all, but the Yeti was 1-2 boards right at the arrows, and 1 board left at the breakpoint....from what I saw. I don't see a reason to buy the Untamed if I already own the original Yeti from this video. I suspect that the actual difference would be greater on a tougher shot, but this video doesn't show that. What is you take on the difference between the two, because even the reaction shape was pretty similar in this vid?

Looks to me like the Untamed is a bit more angular

I'm not defending either way, but both pieces have a high-gloss finish, right? so with that shiny of a surface, there won't be much difference on anything. The Untamed is a solid, whereas the original is pearl. Only difference should be shape, even at lower grits.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.

It seems that our test pattern which we are told hasn't changed lol, seems to be playing a tad tighter latetly.  We try very hard to keep everything the same for comparison reasons.  That being said, we were a bit further right with the original Yeti than on the original Yeti video back last year.  I will say for sure that the Untamed is a bit earlier and more angular downlane.  The Untamed with this layout seems to blend the wet/dry on the pattern extremely well.  While there isnt a huge difference in the two balls, The Untamed is definitely stronger.  Hope this helps.

Also-- (just an observation)

If you watch where the ball exits the pin deck-- the untamed was "deeper" (closer to the 8pin) while the original hit a bit "flatter"............ even with an adjustment to the right, it seems like you could have gone 2-1 more right with the original to get it to "face up" a little stronger. Just a quick thought, and obviously I wasn't there to watch the lanes break down and watch the balls throughout the video...........
Reax-45x4.5x40(pin down)
Nexus (original)- 45 x 4 x 35 (pin up)
503t-45x4.5x40
Source-60 x 5.5 x 50
Nexxxus f(p+s)-70x5.5x35
Marauder-55x5x50 (2k+polish)
300t-60x5.5x50 (+polish)
Melee-75x6x40 -- Anyone want to buy this?

You are exactly right. We put the "flat" hit in on the original to show exactly that.  Basically same shot and the Untamed finishes a bit stronger.  A move right with the original Yeti would have been probably 2-1 for sure.  We've learned on these videos that its not always best to show all the pretty strikes but ones that show comparison the best.  Thanks for checking out the videos!

I thought that was what your intent was; good idea with showing the entry/exit angle of the test balls, with similar lines and adjustments to "line up" with the two pieces of equipment.

I know it would be extra work, but could you possibly do a video showcasing the Untamed, Reax 2, and an Affair (doesn't matter which one) all in a video? Or some sort of combo, just to show the different reactions, lines, adjustments? I enjoy seeing the different combos you guys come up with (different drills on the Brutal, comparing the Paranormal Aura/original Reax).

Keep up the great work! If you need a "help tester" I'll gladly volunteer my services.......... I don't mind driving to Canada to help out :0)  I'll just have to convince my wife its our "family vacation" and that the "dogs will love Canada, hunny"!

Anyway, keep it up.

We are always looking for ideas.  That does sound great.  One of each ball from each price point and how they compare.  We will definitely work on something and heck ya if you're ever up in Canada give us a shout!
