The all-new Hyped Series from Roto Grip has hit a new mark of success in their HP2 lineup. With the all-new Hyped Core wrapped with the proven VTC (Versatile Traction Control) Hybrid or Pearl Coverstocks, this new SP2 line delivers fantastic results at a moderate price. I was genuinely impressed with the Hyped line, so let’s take a closer look at how the Hyped Hybrid handled a THS.
Roto Grip has done an outstanding job with its development of the all-new Hyped Core. From the start of a typical league night of bowling, the Hyped Core was smooth and consistent. Being a higher-speed and low-rev player, I liked how this core provided a more predictable, well-rounded motion I could depend on for the entire evening! Further, I liked how the Hyped Core, being a low RG or “centered heavy†ball, delivered a strong rolling motion but retained its energy for an explosive impact at the pins. Even when you miss right and pray it gets to the pocket, the Hyped Core delivered results like that of a high-performance ball. So, it’s safe to say the Hyped Core produced what Roto-Grip wanted to achieve - a medium flare or moderate hooking ball with the ideal ball motion!
Hybrid coverstocks are a great option on a THS for straighter players, and The VTC Hybrid cover is an excellent choice! Starting on fresh oil, looking straight up the second arrow, I like how this Hybrid cover read early and maintained solid traction in the mid-lane. As the night progressed, the VTC Hybrid continued with a clean and well-blended motion as I started to play inside. And as I moved my eyes to look at 16 - 17, the 1500-grit polished surface handled my high-speed/low-rev hand quite easily. I also enjoyed the confidence I got from the well-defined motion of the VTC Hybrid cover, even as the conditions started to break down. So, for a straighter player, this cover is well suited for your game on a THS.
In conclusion, the Hyped Hybrid is an excellent choice for low-rev/high-speed players on a THS. With its brilliant purple/pink combination, the Hyped Hybrid brings a welcoming look and motion to your game at a low to moderate price. It is an excellent all-around choice for league bowlers! It also fits perfectly between the HP3 line, like the Rubicon, and the HP1 line, like the Hustle Wine. So, talk to your local pro shop operator today about the Hyped Hybrid. You will be glad you did!
