2 Rogue Cell arsenal for THS

Hey all.  I have been throwing a Rogue Cell (50x4-1/2"x30) for about 3 months and love the ball.  I have never thrown a ball as good as I throw this thing and I''m comfortable with changing my hand position to manipulate the reaction.  However, come the 3rd game at our house it burns up too quick and loses its energy.   So last month I ordered a Cell Pearl and to this day me and this ball were just not meant to be.  It has been plugged and redrilled twice along with multiple surface changes and for me the ball is completely unpredictable.  Last night I went 260-279 out of the gate, but the 10th frame of the 2nd game it was all I could do to keep the Rogue''s energy.  I was spinning it just to keep it from burning out.  I grabbed my Pearl and felt so uncomfortable I wanted to get the Rogue back out.  I finished with a 210 but I was very disappointed.  

Now for my question.  League is all I bowl in and they are 40ft THS on synthetic.  Would it make sense to punch out another Rogue to go longer with a strong backend and stay with a ball I''m comfortable with along with adjusting the surface to adapt to the light oil that''s there?  I''m at my wits end with my Pearl and don''t know what to do.  Thanks for any help.

getting another rogue and changing the layout and surface prep will change the reaction enough to see a difference, but keep it close to the original reaction. hope that made sense... im doing the same thing soon since i love my rogue, but its too strong when the lanes break down. might hit to surface a little on the new one as well to get it to go down the lane a little easier.

I have two w/different layouts and surface preps, and it is an excellent one-two punch!  Rogue #1 is 5"x3"(pin up), and I have used it enough that I have resurfaced it once to as-close-to-factory as I can get it on my personal spinner....360abralon, 500 abralon(lightly), 4000 abralon(lightly).  On our 39 foot, med.heavy oil THS pattern, I can use this ball for two games MAX., staying firm with the speed.  Rogue #2 I have changed the surface to 500 abralon(heavy), 4000 abralon(lightly), then a light coat of Storm Xtra-shine polish.... laid out 3.5x3.5 stacked(pin up), and continue to play the same line as Rogue #1, with pretty good results.  Game 1 avg. is 217 , game 2 avg. is 206, and game 3 avg. is 213.  Maybe I should consider switching balls early in game 2 instead of waiting till game 3.... I just don't like switching mid-game and possibly giving away a frame or two late in a game.

A two-ball Rogue arsenal, with plastic for spares, is a  very workable combination!

Flybub,

Should be a good option actually for you...

Would suggest a layout much weaker...

Something like 70 x 5 1/2 by 30..

Give the ball more length than you are seeing with a bit more pop on the backend. Can use surface adjustments to tweak the reaction to match up exactly what you need for the 3rd game.

The idea with this  layout is to push the ball down the lane further (through the burnt heads) and have good recovery late (if needing to get deeper inside)
