802 set.......
« on: February 10, 2009, 03:50:06 AM »
I'm posting this thread for my teammate, Joe, who is out of town and much too modest to post!

Joe has been promising to get a new ball arsenal for about a year now, and finally, just before the season started.....he did. He had always asked me about the pieces I use, and the "why" behind my use of them.

So he switched out all of his AMF pieces....a Nighthawk, a blue Hawk and a raspberry Ninja, and picked up a Cell, a Mystic, and a Neptune. Been fiddling with all three all year, and trying to get comfortable with them. Finally had a breakout week last week!

After posting a 694 set in his Saturday league, he posted a 712 set doing make-up games, in the same house, on a broke-down second league shot. What was really impressive was......he did it on the opposite end of the house, where it is harder to score! He shot both of these sets primarily with his Neptune.

Last Monday, during league he preceded to shoot 299-203-300 on a fairly medium heavy shot. Once again, he used his Neptune! Outstanding shooting from a guy who is relatively new to RotoGrip!! I feel like a proud father!

Give him our congratulations on his 299, 300, and 802 series.

Well that is 800 the hard way. Nice to clean out the rings early in the season too!

Mark

Got that right!

How did he manage a 203 in there surrounded by those two honor scores?

Sorry guys.....almost forgot I posted this.

He got lazy during the transition phase. He stayed in the same spot too long, while all the other players tried to jump on the same line he was playing.

Consequently he got tapped quite a bit, before he finally decided to move inside some more.

You know how stubborn us bowlers can be!

I will pass the congrats along to him! Thanks.

Congrats to your friend! The Neptune is a very underrated ball and the Mars will prove to be a great release as well! Make sure your friend isn't to stubborn to try the new releases! Bruce
