Cell: -- Pin, CG and RG are not in line

Hi all:
i just brought a Cell. The PIN, CG and RG are not in a line.
If I draw a line from PIN to CG, then the RG is about 1.5 inch right from that line.
Is is this OK? or I got myself "bad setup"?

If you are right handed it may actually be an advantage of reducing the chances of a weight hole being needed. There is nothing wrong with the ball though, layout it out as you would and then weigh the ball to see if the static weights come out legal or not.

Are you right or left handed?  If you are right handed, this will be a good setup, especially if you are looking to swing the RG (mass bias) out towards the VAL.  Shouldn't be a problem, if you have a normal range (2-3 ounces) of top weight.

FYI I assume you have now learned that all these concerns should be tallyed in your own mind BEFORE you order your next mass bias/asymmetric cored ball?

Once you have the ball in hand, it's time to drill, not to question.

don't mean to be sarcastic, and these are important concerns BEFORE ordering the ball. If you didn't know, next time ask the person from whom you are ordering, "Is there anything else you need to know about the ball I want and what I am going to do with it?"

Actually, when i order balls on line, i always specify the PIN, top weight and total weight, and i always ask them to contact me before they ship if they cannot meet those specification. But I didn't ask about the PIN CG RG alignment. I have learn my lesson.

BTW: How should the PIN CG RG align? should they be all in a line?

They CAN be inline and many people prefer that. HOWEVER, there are some advantages to to the CG being kicked out to the left or to the right depending on your OR your driller's intentions of how the ball will be drilled.

You can always ask the person from whom you are ordering to get you a specific CG (inline, left or right OR with xxx inches left or right of the pin-MB line). If they cannot, then there are many other places from which you cna order.  

Recently I got a comp (free) Cell from Roto-Grip. Being free, I could NOT tell them I want/demand XXXX. I took what they had and Roger, the VP, was nice enough to tell me that an offset CG would be what I was getting. I figured out a decent layout given that the CG was far left of my preferences (an inline pin-CG-MB) and it worked. My ball reaction is good. However I have 5/8 ounce negative side weight, trivial in today's dynamic cored, strong mass bias world.

I am left handed and prefer the MB to be off to the right slightly.  I prefer putting the MB to the right of my thumb, makes the ball more smooth for me.

1.5 inches off isn't that bad. Don't worry. Mine is 3 inches to the right, and it works fine. I wasn't able to lay it out the way I wanted but the alternative was just as good.
