Is Disturbed that good?
« on: February 04, 2013, 10:28:04 PM »
Pro shop is telling me the Disturbed would be a good fit for me on the surprisingly heavier volumes we have been seeing all of a sudden at our lanes.
My question is this ball that much better then some of the other heavy oil balls?

I picked up a Disturbed just after it was released, and I have been extremely satisfied with it. I was Leary about getting a solid at first because I usually don't match up well with them. But I have with this one. I will say that if  the lanes don't have  at least some oil, you will not need this ball. I did put some polish on the cover which made the ball read better and have better back end reaction then it did when it was dull. I would describe this as a midlane ball that has a strong arch that is continuous through the pindeck, and did I say strong, hits very hard! I am very pleased with it and am looking forward to a pearl with this core. I highly recomend it.

Hey Metal, thanks for the feedback, I also, really don't have much in the way of solids, more hybrid, and pearls, but that is one of the reasons my pro shop is saying this would be a good fit for me, fill out my arsenal.
Really like what you said about it being more of an arcing ball, I have been leaning more towards skid/flip stuff lately, another reason for the Disturbed.
Sounds like I know what my next purchase is going to be.

barcar ---- If you look at my profile you will see that the Disturbed is the only solid I have, the rest are pearls and hybrids.  So for this ball too match up with me is rare and so far it has met and passed my expectations. I mainly play a down and in shot around the 5 - 7 board, depending on the oil, and it works perfectly. very smooth and strong arch - definitely not skid flip. If you are looking for a solid I would pull the trigger on this one. Remember I did add some polish to the cover to help my reaction, so you may have to adjust your cover to get the reaction you are looking for.

my last solid was the 2furious, and had to adjust that cover as well.
I am also a down and in, but more around the 10 board.
I have noticed that most of the video reviews, for most new releases they end up throwing more around 15 then either of us throw.
I am going to mess around next practice with trying more of that line, that is once my Achilles injury heals.

In case you haven't seen our review, 2 of our testers played outside 12 to give you an idea of what this ball can do.  We also tested on THS and Sport pattern.

I just got mine and I'm thinking about getting another. I like it that much. The roll, midlane, drive, and hit are top notch. I thought the box finish would be too much but with my speed and revs I had the entire right side to use.

I loved not worrying about over throwing the breakpoint. I just recommended it to 2 of my friends. It's going to be my #1 ball now for sure!

The ball is as good as people say. I am still surprised how good it is when I throw it.

Ok so one of my good friends has it.

What I see is very simple and exactly what I expected.

Compared to the outlaw it is...cleaner through the front..better midlane and a more pronounced move on the backend like the continuum core had.

Probably one of the best rolling solid symmetricals in recent memory...I will be getting one as soon as I wear out my outlaw lol
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

The Disturbed is that good.  I've been seeing more often (especially among the high rev guys) symmetrics performing better on higher/longer volumes of oil than asymmetrics.

Never said it broke the monotony we've been seeing with dull symmetric solids.  All I said is that it's a good ball that can handle heavier volumes.

I thought the danger zone comes a little shiny. I have two of them. Both are a little shiny.
