Nomads......No filler?
« on: July 06, 2009, 07:10:07 AM »
I noticed the nomads have a slightly high RG and as well the pictures do not depict any filler whereas the Cells and Illusions depict filler in the ball pictures. Does anybody know whether this is the case or not?or just a online picture lol.

The original Silver Streaks didn't have filler, so I hope these are the same way.

I did not know that...Maybe that is one of the reasons why they hit so darn hard.

Good info to have.

I think thats how they are able to get away with having a fairly high RG (2.55) and high diff (.055)

There IS NOT a wrap in this ball.  Storm is also coming out with the Reign which will not have one either.

Keep in mind Nomad solids come with shiny cover for shelf appeal only.  I'm going to knock mine down to my favorite surface when I drill it this week...More info and a report to come if I get a chance to throw them before Friday.

My Silver Streak SE shows that in drilling the weight hole, we went through about 2 inches of shell before drilling into the core - no filler. This would be one of the advantages of large volume cores you can get a thicker shell. Another would be to reduce the number of steps in production. A third advantage would be thicker shells typically give you a higher coefficient of restitution (COA).

I think you're mistaken, but it's possible that this was the case in the lighter weight Thunderstrucks.
