Oracle (first Impressions)
« on: August 29, 2004, 04:52:04 PM »
Well I threw it for the first time today and all I can say is WOW!!! I am amazed at how versatile this ball really is.

I puched mine up with the pin 3" from my PAP and the Mass Biass in the Strong position.  With a HUGE weight hole in the thumb quadrant, this sucka had 3.5 ozs. of top weight.

First Line: Up 15, pretty heavy oil.

The ball was just furious when it hit the pins.  At first I thought that it was going to keep sliding but when it made its move it was powerful.  And the Carry, OH MY.... Pushed everything straight back, and when that didn't happen, Messengers flew all over.

Second Line: 13(oil) out to 5(pretty dry)

I expected overaction, but I saw none of the such, the ball just gripped and moved Smashing the pocket EVERY time.  The carry was just as effective as it was in the oil.

Overall, I am very happy with this ball, I like the light load particle tactic, this will allow the ball to be used by just about anyone.  I couldn't get the ball to burn up if I tried.  But I would Love to see it with a Med. particle load, maybe that will be NEO, lol.  But I give this ball a 10/10.  Way to go Roto, this one will last a while.

Nice!

Read the BTM review over the weekend.....51 total hook ( Hey DP3...only ONE below the Goliath! )

Anyhow.....can't wait to pick up mine today......

BTMs review sounds like the description I had receieved from Roger....light load, small particles, giving a bigger reaction on the back more like a strong resin solid.........BTM said it's stronger than a strong resin but not quite as strong as the particle hook monsters.......

I tried to throw my Goliath on a Long 40ft shot, 70 units inside, 20 outside of 6.  Just way too much ball for my speed(18.5) and Revs(low-500s) after only 6 or 7 frames.  If I can't use this thing at my first tournament which is 41 feet flat either 65 or 70 units, it just might have to go.  I just found a global assault, I might try it out at my big oil piece.  I loved the core from that series, lope and control.  The resin cover should fit my game a little better than a high load particle ball.

I will say this though, the Oracle does finish extremely well.
